For crystal star only: why is there hydrogenated palm oil ( a trans fat no longer recognized by fda as gras) in the product?

Hello! Crystal Star NAD+ does not contain Trans Fat. Partially hydrogenated oils contain trans fat. The oil used in our product is completely hydrogenated so contains zero trans fat. The oil acts as a coating around the nicotinamide to protect it from degrading therefore giving the product an effective shelf life. Additionally the palm oil used is 100% sustainably sourced and certified to the requirements of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) standards. We hope this addresses your concerns.
