This is an excellent addition to my library. I see others said that their kids loved these books. I am not too sure about that. Sure they are great books. But have an adult theme. For instance the first book "Mrs Rosie and the Priest" is a nice story but unless you want Junior developing a more advanced vocabulary in which "cuckold, pimps, prostitutes" feature prominently I would suggest vetting a little bit.No complaints.By the way, as a response to other buyers who complained about their packages being all dinged up, the seller sent mine wrapped tighter than a mummy's knickers (see? vocabulary), and the soft fluff inside flew all over my yard and now it looks like dadgum Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in February (I am in Nairobi in September)Ta, and all that

The entire collection appears brand new and intact, reflecting the quality expected from Penguin’s reputable publication line.While I did notice some minor imperfections, such as traces of hot glue residue and a bit of dust in a few areas, these small issues do not detract from the overall value or experience. Considering the excellent price of $65 for the complete box set, this is an outstanding purchase.Overall, I am very satisfied with this acquisition and would recommend the Penguin Little Black Classics set to anyone looking for a compact and diverse collection of classic literature at a great value.

The books came (from India) in a timely manner and undamaged. All the volumes were there. The selection of readings is wonderfully varied, from Western classics to Eastern dynastic poetry. The selected excerpts are well chosen not only to represent the author but also as worthy readings in their own right. Penguin translations are always first-rate, and these volumes are no exception. If you are looking for an introduction to basic literacy, this is a good start.

I saw a few people with this box set on Instagram and I just had to have. I wasn't sure what to expect since this box set is a huge collection of classic short stories and poems, but it has been a true delight to open up this box set and see the many wonderful stories inside. I've been choosing random books from the set to read when I'm in between a novel or want to read something that is not too long while having breakfast or dinner or out for a drive. There are some books and authors that I have heard of and some that are very new to me, considering that I mostly read fantasy, mystery and historical fiction. These little black classic books are a true treasure to have in any household.
