2.5 years now and still getting compliments on how great this speaker sounds. I play it on the crew bus while transporting crewman to/from refineries. They love it!! Loud, clear, holds a good charge!!

I would not say that the speaker is super portable as it is slightly heavy/bulky compared to the much smaller versions of other brands out there. But the handle at the top makes it not an issue. If you want flawless sound that is portable (I got about 10 hours of playtime on one charge with the volume at half maximum), I do not see (hear) how you can do better if you’re willing to spend the extra money for quality.Playing the first song out of this speaker just floored me. The bass was thumping and trebles were very crisp. “Beats” the sound quality of other similar offerings. Of course, this is due to the size of this unit, but it is very much worth the extra weight and circular footprint.The weather proofing is also holding up to its promises, as I had it out in the snow with no audible or visible degradation. Just be aware, that other than the handle, the speaker is wrapped in a tight cloth-like mesh which could get torn. I did not have that experience but then I take care of my equipment as much as possible.Finally, the sound is directional (not 360° like some of the other H & K offerings) but that is not anything different from other portables.One caveat about Bluetooth connectivity: it can only handle up to two different devices connecting to it. If you wanna add a third Bluetooth device that would stream to it, you need to disconnect one of the first two in the settings of those particular devices. This is not unusual for these types of devices but since I learned about it, trying to stream from my iPad after I had already connected my iPhone and another device, and the speaker wouldn’t connect. Forgetting one of the two earlier devices in the Bluetooth settings solved the problem.

We had our pool finished last fall just too late to get in any swim time. So this spring I started searching for a solid outdoor water resistant Bluetooth speaker. I bought this along with 2 Ultimate Ears models and if you care about sound vs noise, this is what you want. Stuck in the back of a Polaris or leaving to get dirty and use on a hunt I can see those tube designs having a place especially with their longer battery life. However just hanging by the pool or jamming it during a shower this can't be beat. It sounds SO good even cranked and gives great bass response without sounding ridiculous like a Beats product to where it's 99% artificial. The fact you can pair two together is cool too. I mostly have on rock or hard rock music and the natural EQ is perfect. And since it's not the tube design I can play it louder without bothering neighbors. Battery life is very adequate at 8+ hours I just charge it every other day or two. Definitely would buy again especially now that the price has reduced.

Wow!! This is a fantastic speaker with huge sound. I’ve had many smaller & medium sized Bluetooth speakers, most JBL models (which is owned by Harmon Kardon - btw) so when I felt ready for a larger speaker it was not a hard decision to get this Onyx Studio 6.Pros - the bass is big and fills up the room- it is neat looking but not at all obtrusive when placed in any room... near a wall I suggest- it’s solid footed due to its weight which I think is a good thingCons - battery life is average which makes sense since it’s pumping out a lot of power- the highs could be a little crisper if you’re more used to a smaller or less powerful speaker- a wifi version with standby connectivity would be nice in the future- my wife calls it my speaker purseSurprisingly, I actually tried and returned a pair of plug in speakers that lacked power compared to the studio 6 - from a brand that rhymes with ‘gonos’.It’s a keeper and really awesome - definitely get/give this a try. It will be hard to revert to something less powerful I think.

I bought an Onyx 2 used several years ago, it's still performs quiet well. I use it daily in my shop.Bought the Onyx 6 for use in my house and it doesn't disappoint.

This is a good loud speaker and the 8 hour battery is based on a very low volume. It's a little heavy but that's to be expected for a speaker of this size and volume.It's only weakness is it lacks bright highs. It has a tweeter, but it's ineffective. Even if your source has a graphic equalizer, you just cannot get bright sound. But from that range down it is pretty balanced. Good base but not overwhelming.

This Harman Kardon speaker has an elegant modern design, doesn’t take up much space on a decorative pedestal I have it sitting on, and puts out amazingly clear sound with detailed instrumentals and sexy, heavy base where you want to hear it. Just one speaker fills a large great room with ceilings higher than 14 feet. It’s got some weight to it, so make sure you display it/ feature it somewhere it’s design can be appreciated, but that has enough surface area to absorb the base coming from the unit. If you’re in a smaller room or in a setting where there are shared walls, I’d keep in mind this great base will also be able to be ‘enjoyed’ by neighbors, so take heed at how much you get lost in the exquisite sound quality yourself!I have not used it without the cord as of yet, so I cannot give any insight as to how the battery life holds up. I’ll try to update in the near future as soon as I’m in a better position to judge that!

I am pleasantly surprised at how amazing this little speaker sounds! It has a clear midrange and a very crisp tweeter. The base is incredible. I can't fathom how this little device can produce such an amazingly clean and deep base! I have seen way larger speakers that can't produce a fraction of the base this thing outputs. I am not too sure about the battery life so can't say anything about that because it's always plugged in. The built quality is great! Very solid product and it looks really cool. Highly recommend it if you want a space-saving Bluetooth speaker that performs really well!
