Surprisingly excellent.
Bought for a 10 year old I wondered about this. However, she enjoyed various activities using it and working alongside her father.

Easy to use and fun
I bought this for my 8year son old is so interested in Engineering and he loved. The package arrived next day he made couple of things from it. It was easy for him to understand. Good value and fun. Surely recommend

Poor instruction book, excellent kit.
Excellent kit with all the necessary components for covering the electricity section of GCSE Physics. The guide book provided is hopeless, a bad English translation of a work book initially written in Chinese. Needs knowledgeable adult supervision to prevent short circuiting and burning out components and to write a workbook of experiments to make full use of the excellent kit.

Horrid
I'd give it MINUS one star if I could. OK, you can make a wheeled cart but there's nothing in the box to help you fit anything to it -- even a few extra screws would have helped. It's got five bulbs and one holder, perhaps useful because they can be difficult to get hold of nowadays. Two unmountable switches -- they are designed as a push in fit into a rectangular cut out, which is not present on the baseboard. Two motors, arcanely described as 'red' and 'white'. Is there any difference between them -- we are not told -- maybe one of them is a stepper. who knows? A couple of battery holders and a few fragile fan blades. Oh -- there's the dodgy rheostat too. And of course the virtually unusable connecting wires. At each end they have a crocodile clip with insulation so slippery that it slides around whenever you try to open them, almost impossible for kids to use. And none of the electrical components has a decent sized lug to attach them to anyway, mostly tiny terminals which the clips just fall off as soon as anything moves. And finally there are the unusable gears, sixty of them. There are no shafts to mount them to and if there were, there is nothing to mount the shafts to. So do not expect to drive your cart's wheels through a gear chain from the motor. Finally, I nearly forgot -- there are the instructions that are just a bad joke.

Poor quality magnets
Magnets are poor quality and don't behave as expected. But I think it's ok for kids to play. They don't have much force so will be safe to handle for very young. One is showing the correct N and S while the other might not. So they don't repel or stick as they should. You can see in the image how messed up the field is on the stick and disk. EDIT: Second thoughts. A defect is actually awesome for my purpose. So I change it to 5 stars. If you want defective magnets with unique magnetic patterns, then this is the way to go.

Could be much better
The magnets are small and weak, barely able to move around the iron filings. The compass was jammed until I tapped the central pin back into place...then it was so weakly magnetised that it would not point to north naturally (i.e. it is not actually a compass), although it would point to a magnet. There is no instruction booklet with experiments, or even a link to such online, which is a missed opportunity. Not value for money, a poor example of cheap Chinese manufactured tat.

Doesn’t come with adequate instructions.
The product does have many components. Inadequact instructions with the set. The set had wheels & rods to contact the wheels to make a vehicle but in practice it didn’t work. Propellers were provided to propel the vehicle along but they weren’t effective of powerful enough to move the vehicle along. Very frustrating for my grandson & myself.

would have rathered it be in a bettr quality - the iron case broke on day 2 and the magnet looks cheap - served its purpose of education
