I bought the 16x18x20 plyo box. The 16 sides are not both pointing up. They are the same pieces. Is this a shipping error?

There are 3 sizes and 6 sides which means there are 2 'ups' for each size. The smaller sides have slots for picking box up. For mfg efficiency these sides are exactly the same, which means you can choose to have both slots in the same position, or both arrows pointing the same direction. I assembled with slots at same end for easier handling. 1 arrow points up, the other points down. If you turn box over, 1 arrow points up, the points down.

How difficult would it be to sand the giant logo off of the side?

I bought the 12 14 16 and assembled it inside out so no logos show. It fits perfect.

Is this strong enough to do heavy box squats with?

Not really sure on that. Box Squats are "touch & go" so you should be ok. But honestly if there is a "fail" in your squat then you could be in trouble. It's really not made for that I don't believe. It is very sturdy. I'm 230 and it does not budge or wobble.
