Wow! The best thing I've ever bought for my back.
Wow. I wish I'd discovered this years ago. With a foam roller and stretching, I'd been able to target my hips, glutes, and all the stuff around the lower back, but never really get at it directly. This stretcher worked on the first try! I used a few pillows, as I couldn't lie back as fully as the smiling model in the instructions, and it was intense but not uncomfortable. I got up after a couple minutes, and my back felt airy and weightless. I worried that I'd gone a bit overboard and might feel more pain the next day, as I do with ordinary, bend over yoga stretches, but I was fine. After a few days I'm already able to lean back deeper onto one pillow, not two. I bought an inversion table last week during a bout of insomnia but now I'm wondering whether I really need it.

Love the exercise sheet that comes with
I wanted to use this for a few weeks before posting a review. I've had back pain for years, which lead to butt and leg tingling on the left for years and then the past three years severe right shin pain/burning. I'm not so sure that using this to stretch my spine helps as much as the sand filled 3 lbs weighted balls I was using. I would place two at the small of my back at night and it gave a good little stretch that relieved the shin pain. What I like about THIS wedge is that it came with an instruction/tip sheet. The Back Stretcher when placed under the abs, is great for helping me to raise up using my arms (up dog in yoga). And the side stretch and thigh stretch routine on the little exercise sheet are great stretches for me as well. I would recommend this device for anyone with back pain and advise to be creative. Good luck finding postures and techniques that help relieve your pain and assist with your mobility.

Works! : )
Purchased this for my dad who was complaining about constant back pain. He says it helped him greatly & after trying it myself it helped me too. My dad can't use an exercise ball because he is a bit overweight and almost 80 years old. This was perfect for his needs. When I tried it, it relieved my back pain to a great extent after hours of working in front of a computer. Usually I use an exercise ball but this really helps if you have poor posture and suffer from lower back pain. It's definitely worth a shot.

Feels good, just go slowly and with padding to ease into it.
The Chemistree platform works well, perhaps a bit too well as it might over-stretch your spine, so you have to be careful of how it is place -- the large end goes into your lower back area where the spine has a natural curve and then tapers off to the lower end. Just be careful that you do not overdo it and maybe place towels or something under your tailbone to reduce the amount of stretch. Otherwise, you may pull something that is already weak in that area. Also, don't spend too long on it -- just a few minutes should do it. No matter what your spinal issues are, this unit is not going to magically resolve them immediately. At least, that's been my experience, your back will be different, of course, just take it easy and adapt to the curvature slowly and let your body adjust to it.

Lower back no pain relief
Based upon all the reviews I expected a lot more from this product. When you are laying on it there is no head support. If you look at the photo on the Amazon ad, the person is supporting her head with her hands. My back is so tight I was unable to do that comfortably. I had to support myself on my elbows. I tried it on the floor. Getting on the floor and up again can be a challenge if your back hurts a lot. I found much more relief from a Gaiam exercise ball. You do have to be able to balance on it but if felt great on my back stretching backwards over it and it provides more support for your upper body. Looking at the reviews again, I realized most if not all were by purchasers who received a discount for a review. Guess they have a disclaimer on there for a reason.

Just What I Needed -- Worth Every Penny
I am using it a little differently than directed. I don't have lumbar issues but I do have sacroiliac joint pain that radiates into my left hip. I lay with the thin end tucked under me first to hyperextend the SJ portion of the spine, and of course my legs are lifted into the air. The hard, knuckle-like projections are ideal for stimulating the lower back and they dig right in and relieve pain coming from specific areas right away. I only wish I had this when I was younger and the pain was more severe. I think this may help me with my relentlessly tight piriformis muscles and keep me active. Rollers only stretch, but do not massage, so they do not work as well for me. I am writing this after first use. The results were dramatic and have already provided considerable relief. No more sticking my fist under my hip to try to do this myself -- whew!

I cant say I feel dramatically better using this product or whether or not it helps
I use this approx 6 times a week for 5 minutes, I cant say I feel dramatically better using this product or whether or not it helps. I have a degenerative disc in my low back which causes tightness so I need to stretch out every day. I have stretches my doctor told me to do and I use this as well. I have only been using this for a couple of weeks now, it does have a 60 day money back guarantee.
