I ordered these for some larger whittling projects. The grain is fairly straight and so far is whittling easy. They have very good surface with very little tool marks. I am happy with them.

Nice product. Easy to use. good for beginners

I used these to prop up my box spring mattress which has been slipping though my bed frame. I know these are marketed for woodcarving but for those of you who need a block of wood to...well... be a block of wood, you won't be disappointed!

Had to use either gouges with a hammer or power carve. Once I got it very close I was able to do a bit of knive work on this. Carving came out nice stained and painted it both very good did wash carving before adding any paint or stain.. Will buy again but I'm hoping a little better quality. Rusty.

I used these block to propped painting for an exhibition. They were light weight and easy to gold leaf. The package arrived in a timely manner.

Great quality and precise cuts

I have carved for years. This is NOT basswood. Too, too, hard.

The wood is super hard. The grain isn't good for carving at all. Might be okay for power carving but is not right for hand carving.

The wood is nice to carve. Some blocks are harder than others but on the whole it’s good basswood and I’d use this again.
