My 4 year old dog absolutely LOVES this toy. He's not one for destroying toys, he usually will lay down and cuddle them, but they seem to look pretty bad after 6 months & that's probably around the time that the sound chip also dies out. I've probably bought at least 5 of them throughout the years. The first one I bought at BB&B & then they stopped carrying it, so luckily I found it on amazon; now my boy can continue to keep getting his favorite toy. The toy makes a very distinct noise that's hard to describe, it's not your typical squeak or honking noise, more of like a mechanical giggling noise. The material is fluffy at first, but after a few months it starts looking all matted and it just looks gross.

My dog has gone blind as a complication from Cushing's disease. She LOVED chasing balls and had been so sad when she could no longer find them, once thrown. We tried some smaller cat toys that made noise, but they were too small and she would inevitably bite down too hard and break the sound making mechanism. The size of this toy is just right, where she can grab it and make it make noise, but can't quite get the noise mechanism between her jaws. (She is 28 pounds, for reference.) I ordered extras in case she gets a lucky bite. She LOVES when I press the button and throw it so she can hear it and chase it. It has made my dog happy to play again, and that gives my heart joy. I do wish the noise maker would repeat 5 times instead of 3, because sometimes it stops before she finds it, but otherwise this is perfect. Two thumbs up!

The noise drove her crazy, like a real animal almost. She loves to catch mice. It just needs to be made from stronger material for her. I can see me getting these on a monthly basis. She ripped the noise maker out, I put it up. But if she hears it she will dig trying to get it. She played with the body of it until she got all the stuffing out a little hole. But she had fun. Worth it.

We've purchased these little hedgehogs from a national retail store for our little Lhasa for about 6 years, I didn't think they were made by the same manufacturer because these were such poor quality compared to the others. Imagine my surprise when I went to the national retail website and I found the same toy, but ever so slightly different. The "fur-like" fabric on the two we just received was thin and I could see my dog getting pieces of it stuck in his throat. Then I was curious because I was sure I had ordered this same toy from amazon in the past, and I had. I put the old and the new together and there was a significant quality difference. The fabric used on all parts of these stuffed hedgehogs was unsatisfactory, Immediately after giving the hedgehog to my Lhasa a seam opened. This was a matter of minutes. My husband thought I dropped something. When he handed it to me I was confused. I asked what it was, he said he didn't know, he thought it was mine. I pressed on it, and it was the cute little hedgehog noise. With the others we've purchased of these we've never had any seam ripping. It also took us quite a while to find the "voice box" I thought, how's the dog going to be able to figure it out when we can't. Well he found it all right. He could have easily swallowed that piece that fell on the floor. The other thing, and this is the topper. The one you can purchase at the national "get anything for your home" retailer sells for just under five dollars, and it's a bit larger than the two we received. We figured we'd spend $5.60 because we didn't have to ruin the environment by driving to the Supermall for a dog toy. So, I've realized that I can go to this retailer, check the quality and spend less. Let me also say, non of this is by any means amazon's doing. Since this manufacturer sells these everywhere, they probably just started using cheaper material so they can make more money or these are from a bad batch? Did they run out of the "Good material so had to use the "backup", maybe the seam ripped open after a few minutes of play time because someone "new" is doing the sewing? They are just putting our furry family members at risk. What if the "voice box" was on the floor but this time a baby put it in their mouth? They could easily choke on it. Again. we've been buying these for years (the hedgehog's voice box doesn't last long) and this is the first time I've had a problem because I always check out the "squeaker" and make sure it's up high where others haven't been wearing it out. In the pictures, the two lighter colored Hedgehogs are the new ones, and the ones in the rear are probably a year old. The year old guys have short thick plush where the just purchased ones the "fur" is thin scraggly and matted. The older HH's look better than the brand new ones. What happened Pet Qwerks?

My dog likes the chattering, chirpy noise and this is one her favorite toys. She might de-stuff it some day, but I'll re-stuff and sew up the hole. For the price, this was a good toy.

My dog loves to throw this toy around. After a few months the battery did die and it no longer makes a creepy chuckling noise. Nonetheless, my dog enjoys it the same and it has remained intact without any tears or holes.

What a waste of money for the dog toy I ordered I have seen the same product half the price what a rip off

I looked for this Toy for over a year I don't know where I got my first one but the dogs loved it .I got the new ones one the squeaker doesn't work as well as the other ones but they still love it

Fast delivery. Well packaged. Easy to press and get the sound and sound is a good volume for pet to hear it. Very cute and both my dog and my cat like it, but it's for the dog. This is the smaller size hedgehog for a smaller dog. I have ordered the large size in the past for a larger dog and it is just as cute and good volume as well.
