XISICIAO Full Size Keyboard Palm Rest Cover for Microsoft Surface Laptop 3/4/5 - Wrist Rests Film Protector, Avoid Stain for 13.5 Inch (US Layout) (Black)

I recently got a Surface Laptop 2 for work. Several of my colleagues said that I'd want to get a wrist protector, and showed me how filthy theirs were (it's really quite disgusting!). I don't know why Microsoft made such a poor design choice. Thankfully, this product exists and it seems to work as intended. If your wrist pad is already filthy, you probably want to get the gray opaque version as opposed to the clear version. It was a little tricky to install, but it didn't take me more than 5 minutes so I'm leaving it 5 stars. I would suggest that the backing have a cut away so it's easier to stick the tracking pad first, and then the rest of it like the directions said. I had to tear the backing myself. Luckily this stuff is very forgiving and if you don't stick it perfectly you can lift it and stick it again. Seems to be a great product, at a great price.

It is easy to install if you watch the video. I bought this twice, once for Surface Laptop 2 then for the Surface Laptop 3. I installed the product on the Surface 2 and did not have any issues, it fit perfect. When I installed on the Surface 3 I had issues with the adhesion. I reached out to xisiciao and the shipped me a know protector and two days later I received it and it works great as well! I would recommend this product.

It has protected my alcantara from my Surface laptop 3 so far however from the front 2 corners it did not stick well from the moment I applied this and dust and other particles constantly get into those little spaces. I guess it could be from the fact that that part is slightly curved down but still, I wish the adhesive was a little bit stronger. Overall it's good but I'll probably need to order a new one in the near future.

I ordered this product bc my dog is like a cat when it comes to crawling on my laptop and I wanted something before she scratched it. The idea is great in theory, but does NOT stick to the alcantara fabric AT ALL. Peeled up all the way around the keyboard and didn’t even stick at all to the skinny piece behind the keyboard. I knew from other reviews it was going to alter the color of the keyboard so wasn’t concerned about that. I used a credit card to apply to ensure no bubbles and I only applied it once so I did not remove and reapply so it definitely wouldn’t work if you don’t get it the first time. Big waste of time and money and unable to return bc when you peel it off it’s no longer sticky and unable to put it back into the original packaging. On the plus side it was fairly easy to apply.

1 YEAR UPDATE: This product is excellent. the ONLY complaint i have is that it makes typing a tiny bit more inconvenient, i find myself tripping over my fingers a lot. So the only time i don't use the keyboard cover is during final exams since i need to type as fast as possible. but ultimately this product is completely worth it, so much so that i purchased both the keyboard cover and the transparent skin again. After a year of wear and tear, it was time to replace it, but that's great considering I use this laptop every single day for personal and school use. These covers also make it significantly easier to clean the laptop without worrying about damaging it (s/o to COVID). After 1 year my laptop still looks brand new. My original surface laptop looked completely disgusting and worn out in less than a month. regarding my prior comments about the size being a little off, the description clearly states that it's off by 1mm so i missed that part lol. ---- Surface laptop gets dirty SO easily, this is perfect! The size is a *little* off around the mousepad, but not a big deal. Highly recommend, especially if you have a grey surface. It’s been a few months and it still looks new. The plastic doesn’t affect the feel/functionality when typing. It’s obciously noticeable, since it has a slight shine, but not distracting or overwhelming. Doesn’t make the laptop look cheap Recommend pairing it with a keyboard cover!

I bought a Surface Laptop 3 with the Alcantara a year ago (Fall of 2019) and got one of these for it. It was fantastic, protected the Alcantara, and kept it clean. I upgraded my Surface this fall (2020) and so ordered another palm rest cover, supposedly the same one. Well, it wasn't. The first day I noticed that the lid wouldn't close completely on my Surface. Almost immediately afterward it started to lose adhesion and began peeling up on the lower-left corner. I realized in trying to get it to re-adhere, that the palm rest cover was slightly thicker and more elastic than the first one I had had, therefore it didn't want to stay put due to the thickness, and deformed easily due to the elasticity. Bad ju-ju altogether. Amazon offered a replacement when I contacted them, and I have received and applied it. It seems more similar to the original palm rest, so we will see. I'm hoping that the second one I ordered was just ananomoly, because the first one was outstanding. I'll report back in a couple weeks. Update 3 weeks later. Nope. Fail. As can be seen in the photos, this cover is peeling up as well. I knew within minutes of putting the second cover on that it likely would not be sufficient since it refused to adhere on the edges and corners. However, I wanted to give it some time to see if it would settle in place. Unfortunately, it has not. I am really disappointed in this product since the first one worked so well. Bottom line, they need to go back to the stronger adhesive, this newer version just doesn't get the job done.

I had to use a box cutter to trim the section near the left hinge after installing. I couldn't get it to align all the way.

It fits and does the job. I personally had a hard time putting it on so I had to cut it

Writing this after nearly a year of use. Very good product. I wish I had bought this earlier so that my matting would have retained its original premium finish.

A very reasonably priced product to protect the high traffic areas on the alcantara. The plastic is smooth and not textured (which is preferred). The fit of the protector is very good. Only had it for a few hours but I am impressed. The adhesive doesn't feel to sticky, so hopefully it will not ruin the alcantara underneath. I'd be wary of keep my laptop out in the sun for extended periods.
