I've tried probably 4-5 other tube couplers. This one is WAY easier to install AND actually works (no drips)! Sooooo much better. Only draw back is that they are expensive.

Because life is compiled, 1/2 inch drip line is not actually 1/2inch diameter, and there are actually a few different specific sizes of "1/2" inch line. Most connectors are '17mm" connectors that fit the .600 inch "1/2 inch" drip line. My house came with brown rain bird "1/2 inch" drip line that is .540 inch diameter. I think my kind is sometimes referred to as "landscape drip line", vs agricultural, etc.. Connectors are a lot harder to find for this size. The bigger 17mm connectors will take a ton of force to insert and will likely split the line open and fail, yay! Many advertisers on amazon suggest "universal" sizing and such, knowing you won't bother to return 10 bucks in plastic parts. I'm happy to go 5stars as these guys tell the truth, are specific about the sizing of their product, and deliver what they specifically say they will. A+ for honesty, communication, and a quality product. These connectors worked and fit perfectly with my line.

Easy to attach to the irrigation hose and to hand tighten.

This coupler is worthless as it does not properly fit 1/2 inch irrigation tubing. Do not be fooled by its look as it is impossible to screw the ends on the black inner coupler when attached to the 1/2 inch line. I had to go to Home Depot to buy their couplers that they had in stock. I bought two separate types at Home Depot just in case one did not fit and both types fit easily on the 1/2 inch tubing. I returned these that I bought off Amazon who only gave me a partial refund. They should have refunded the whole amount and not sell these on Amazon!

Our irrigation system is 20 years old, so small splits in the tubing are common. These work great for patching short cracks, or for splicing in new tubing. I've tried other options, but they have a tendency to leak without adding hose clamps. With these, there's no leaking and no need for hose clamps. I bought the 25-pack because the price per unit is much better and our system isn't getting any younger, and our neighbors are having the same issues, so this is a good way to be prepared and neighborly at the same time.
