Very well described, solidly constructed with a nice grip surface. Provides exceptionally bright light. They are so good, I now have two!

I ended up buying three, two for work and one for home. Bright, durable, and so far, after over a year, no flickering due to bad connection. On my first one, after close to a year the lease became loose. Just put some super glue on r and tightened focus. Like new. Good battery, brightness, and durability. Despite the lense issue, but I work like 70 hours a week in sometimes harsh conditions. Good reliable flashlight!!

No surprises here. Another winner by Coast. There are brighter. There are lighter. There are also more optioned flashlights too. But this one has a great combo of the afformentioned, and priced well to boot. Highly recommended. 2c tendered.

Terrible on battery life

Coast has some good products, I like the polysteel 400 for it brightness and for its ability to focus and flood and the fact that it uses comon aaa batteries. What I dont like is the fact that the led is off center which when paired with this type of lens creates a beam with artifacts when set to focus. But overall the light seems well built. Not sure if regulated but will run a test to see if it is and will update with results.

This was purchased as a gift for a relative who used it for feeding their horses in the early morning and late at night. Such an item had to be bright (they live out in the woods and various predators do pass through) and durable enough to survive getting stepped on by a 900lb horse (their last flashlight had gone out this way) but also not a regular "tactical" flashlight that was all metal and would be cold and slippery in the hand.Although i don't believe it was ever stepped on by the horse, it has been dropped "a few times" according to the relative and has kept on working with nary a scratch. it is also brighter, lighter, smaller, AND longer lasting between battery recharges than the incandescent models they had been using previously.

This flashlight has a bright beam, is easy to carry and operate. I liked the first one I bought so well that I bought a second one.

I use this around the house primarily replacing wall outlets etc. I also use while camping. My old one got caught in the slide out on the trailer and was bent. It would still turn on but I could no longer adjust the beam. Had to get a replacement.
