Well made four piece plastic toy from popular TV show can be used in bathtub!
Four piece plastic toy from the popular TV show. The tail moves on the Gup-O and you can press the fin to active the suction threads located below it. This item, unlike many of the others "works in water, too!" per the box. The box states, "Designed to look like an Orca whale and able to mimic the creature's movements, the Gup-O features a tail that will move up and down when it is raced across the floor! Also built for bathtime missions, the Gup-O is equipped with retractable suction treads that allow it to stick to the tub walls!" I purchased this items as a birthday gift for my soon to be three (3) year old grandson. He absolutely love the TV program and pretends to be Captain Barnacles (or any other character) from the show. He is going to love this toy!

This Octonauts toy is made for water play!
I love all of the Octonauts toys that I've bought so far. They are made well and durable. However, some of them are not made for water play (i.e., they have batteries), which has been disappointing for my son, considering the Octonauts do most everything in the water. Well, THIS toy is made for the water and it's so much fun! The suction cups are very strong and are easy to "deploy." I like that this toy comes with Dashii because many of the other toys often come with Captain Barnacles or Kwazii (my son now has at least two of each of these main characters). Dashii's helmet is a bit odd-shaped and doesn't look too much like a helmet to me, but it's not a big deal.

Very entertaining for Octonaut fans
My son has all of the Octonaut GUPs and this and the GUP-R were the last ones we had purchased. He loves to watch the episodes and play with the characters and the GUPs as they appear in each episode. Highly recommend this or any of the other Octonaut GUPs for your little Octonaut fan. They are good quality toys, keep my kids entertained even when the show is not on, and allow them to play out scenes and use their imaginations. We are currently waiting for the GUP-S Polar Exploration Vehicle to become available for purchase in the United States and the Deep Sea Octo Lab is currently on the Xmas wish list :-)

Cute with a neat gimmick, but not as great as others - pass
It isn’t easy to find Octonauts toys with Dash, so when I saw this one, I bought it for my kiddo who was a big fan of the show and wanted it. He likes all the cool little accessories that come with the figures and the animals and such. This one doesn’t have a whole lot to it though, and this ones gimmick is only so so. This one has a neat suction cup ability, which gets dropped down when a button is pushed, that is cool in theory, but doesn’t really work all that well in practice. Additionally, unless you are using this in the water, it is very cool that they are also cool water toys, the gimmick doesn’t really add to it’s playability. Construction of this is very nice and durable which is important for a toy geared at younger kids. While I like it, there are definitely better toys in this line. If you really want a Dashi toy then maybe this one is for you, but I don’t see the need for this one for us.

Good quality
This is Tweak! The awesome engineer who works on the Octonaut ship. The whale water ski has skis and suction cups on the bottom, which my kids love to attach to the walls when they play in the tub. It comes with a cute little whale and a helmet for Tweak. The helmets fits the other octonauts in this series. I really like the quality of these toys and my kids love to play with them. They are cheaper here on Amazon than in Kmart.

Great for a 3 year old!
I bought this for my 3 year old son who loves Octonauts. He got it as a Christmas gift and loves it! All the pieces are quality-made and I have no doubt they will hold up to the rough play of a 3 year old. The colors are bright and vibrant. He has played with these in the mud, bathtub and with others toys and they still look brand new! I was a little hesitant because he is a boy, but he loves this set!

Great addition to Octonauts Playset
In buying Octonaut toys for my kids for Christmas, we ended up with 5 Barnacles, so it was nice to have a toy that included Dashii. The Gup-O only fits one character, unlike many of the other Gups, but this one is capable of going into the water at bath time which is a plus. There aren't really crevices that I'm concerned don't train after bath, so I'm not worried about it getting gross after a few bath uses. The tail of the orca moves up and down as you move it across a flat surface OR if you press on his dorsel fin, you can push a series of suction cups flush with the bottom, making it so he can stick to the wall of a bath tub.

Great design and quality toy
1) Shipment/Service Review: The product arrived on time and on schedule. It came in a plain cardboard box with the little airbag insulators. The actual toy was in packaging you would expect if purchasing it from the store, so would be good for gifting (you may, but I have not be able to find in store). Overall, 5 stars as usual for Amazon shipping and packaging. Note: this is a great find for us for 3 reasons: 1) haven't been able to find it in stores (Walmart or Target); 2) this is the only Gup that comes with a Dashi; and 3) it was ridiculously expensive on Amazon for a few months and as soon as it got to a reasonable price point (15.99) we pulled the trigger. 2) Toy Review: the Gup-O and Dashi, like the other Gups (Gup-A, Gup-B, Gup-C, and Gup-E) are all quality toys that are just as durable and thoughtfully designed for water play as it as dry play. These are quality toys with regard to construction and design - the plastic is sturdy and durable - after lots daily play, there is very little scuffing or scratches on the plastic, there are drainage holes that allow for quick drainage and drying for quick transition from water to dry play, and the designs (the octonauts logo) are painted on and after a lot daily play, is still in perfect condition with NO scratches. The manufacturers put a lot of thought into the design of the Gup-O and really thought about all aspects of play, and it shows in the final product. For water play, the suction cups are good quality and actually hold a suction quite well with little effort. For dry play, If you press the dorsal fin, the suction treads retract and there are little wheels for dry land "cruising" and the tail will flip up and down, which is really cute and is another point for thoughtfulness of design and of play. The extras (the helmet and little orca) - I personally love the helmet that comes with it, I think it complements the Gup-O and Dashi and is a nice touch (note: it also fits some of the other figurines from the other Gups). My 3 year old doesn't seem to care for it and apparently has no regard for safety as he likes Dashi to cruise helmet-less. With regard to the little orca, this is just a quibble as this toy comes with so many parts and facets of play to make it well worth the price, it seems like an afterthought. It is all black and doesn't seem to be made from the same quality plastic as the rest of the items. It looks to have been poured into a mold as there are circle indentions for the eyes but the eyes aren't painted. Lastly, the Dashi figurine is of similar quality to the other figurines in the other Gups. She has a hole that you stick her to the peg in the Gup that holds her to it. My only real complaint is, unlike the other Gups in the line, either Dashi's bucket seat was made too shallow or the hole/peg was misaligned, because Dashi will not "sit" in the Gup snugly and falls out quite easily. It really isn't a big deal until you've been asked to put Dashi back many, many times a day.
