Extremely comfortable
I actually use these when I'm driving on long trips. I have a noisy car (Subaru Forester), so whenever I'm driving for more than an hour I try to wear these. That way, I don't arrive with ringing in my ears and hearing loss, and I'm far less fatigued from driving. I have slept in them a little too and that also works. Sometimes they are a little difficult to get back out, which can be slightly scary, but it has never required more than an extra minute of patience. Because these are designed with a hole in the center, they don't cause problems with pressure changes like a foam or other solid earplug would. So, if you drive up a mountain, you won't have pressure building up in your ear canals. These should also be excellent for airplane flights. They also, much like far more expensive models, seem to do a good job at canceling out sound across the spectrum and leaving you with a fairly good but just lower volume remnant of whatever sound is around you. I did take these to a stadium show once, and was able to hear everything clearly. They've also been quite durable so far. Through dozens of uses over probably 30 hours so far, there's no detectable wear or deterioration on them. The little case they come with is really nice too--easy to keep them in your pocket in the case without getting them dirty. Well worth many times the cost to save your hearing from long drives, loud concerts, and airline flights.

The holy grail of ear plugs
I have seemingly average ears but it's been next to impossible for me to use foam or silicone earplugs and I've tried a good dozen varieties! Once I've rolled them between my fingers, I can only insert them about 1/3 of the way, and then my ears gradually push them out until they fall out, typically in a half hour or less. These hollow, soft ear plugs have an ingenious "applicator" that you insert into the middle of each plug and then "screw" them into your ear (obviously, not too far!). This is the first time I've experienced sleeping with earplugs actually IN my ears and it's HEAVEN. Well, not heaven for the ears - you still feel them - but it's a huge relief to be able to sleep next to my snoring husband! I did not experience any problems sleeping on my side or my stomach, as some reviewers have complained, and I did not need to cut down the side "handles" that supposedly stick out too far. The earplugs themselves are really soft (including those side protrusions) so I did not feel them at all. All in all, this is an incredibly well-designed product! As far as sound blocking, they do not block the sound completely - nothing short of pilot's on-ear cans will - but they get close enough. Snoring is notoriously hard to block out but these really do a decent job! For comparison, I have a pair of custom ear plugs made for me by an audiologist in a doctor's office, based on impressions of my actual ears, and the blocking is definitely at least as good, while the comfort is superior. I am unable to sleep on my side in my custom earplugs because they are too hard but these are super soft so the discomfort, while there is some, is minimal. I am thrilled to have found $14 protection that's better than my $160 customs!

I could hear every single little thing
I usually use regular sleeping ones from Alpine in purple pack and love them. I saw these released and decided to give them a try since they are supposed to be "softer". I really can't tell they are any softer than the regular ones. I did not like that I had to use the tool to insert them. It took me few tries to secure them where they felt great and actually blocked the sound around but as soon as I made a little move with my body or especially jaw, they started coming out to the point where they would still be in my ear but I could hear every single noise around me - husband breathing, cat licking, cars passing by. Will try them again tonight, but most likely will be returning them

Well designed, but ineffective
I got these because my wife likes to sleep with the TV on, and that makes it hard for me to fall asleep. Now, what I will say for these ear plugs is that the build quality seems great. They're clearly meant for re-use, and it even comes with a little plastic pokey thingy to clean them with and a plastic carrying case. The problem, however, is that they're just not that effective. In my case, it didn't cut down on the TV noise enough for it to really even help at all. What I finally ended up going with was Flents which, while not as comfortable and unfortunately disposable, are comfortable enough to sleep in and do a great job at noise reduction. So the big thing is don't buy these if there's any significant amount of ambient noise and you don't want to hear it while you're trying to sleep. If you just want the din to be a little quieter, then you should be happy with these.

Good for their intended purpose - not the most comfortable
I sleep with earplugs and have done so for years. I always used foam earplugs (the ones that are yellow and pink striped) and they served me well. They kept the sound out and was easy to sleep, and they did not hurt my ears, I have no problems with them beside the fact they get dirty and you can not clean them. So, recently I purchased the Alpine SleepSoft Sleeping Earplugs, mainly for the fact you can clean them. As far as the basic premise of them and their intended use, they are excellent, keeps the sound out, easy to install and remove, my only issue is after a couple of days my ears hurt a little on the inside just outside of the canal - I am a side sleeper so the pressure is on the ears so it may have pressed to hard and irritated my canal. It won't stop me from using them, I just wanted everyone to know that is my issue with them.

Didn’t work, but very comfortable
I bought these earplugs to help me sleep through my husband’s snoring. I’m a light sleeper, and I chose these over yet another pack of single-use foam earplugs. Comfort: Wonderful These are really comfortable! The earplugs don’t have any hard plastic, which made them nice to sleep in. (I’m a slide sleeper.) They do have a stem to grab onto, but even that is soft. I usually have to order small earplugs, so I was surprised when they didn’t feel just a smidge too big. Placement: Easy Putting them in and removing them was easy. The package provides a little tool that they say can be used to push the earplugs in, but I didn’t need it. If you can put in other earplugs, you can put these in. Sound cancellation: Pretty bad They muffled things a bit. I played an audiobook from my phone on the nightstand next to me, and I could still hear that, even though I had to work to make out individual words. As for my husband’s snoring, they did nothing. I ended up sleeping on the couch. Compared to foam earplugs, the sound cancellation ability for these things is awful. Maybe they’d be good for just taking the edge of everyday noise? Conclusion: I wouldn’t buy them again. I really wanted to like these earplugs! They have everything I usually look for - except they suck as actual earplugs. Looks like I’ll be going back to foam single-use for now.

Have used these earplugs for about 2 years now and they are good for me. Soft and generally don't fall out. Clean easily and last a long time.

Absolutely Life Changing For Snoring and Ear Ringing
I actually got these because I had heard that ear plugs might help with ear ringing. These do the trick. While they don't always make the ear ringing go away completely, they certainly have helped me control it much better. Added bonus is that I can't hear my husband's snoring at all. When the very loud fire alarm went off in our house, I didn't hear it, which I guess is a downside. And I have to use one particular alarm clock to wake me up because I don't hear the one on my phone or my watch at all, so make sure you can hear your alarm to wake up before you use them before going to work. But I don't hear the yard guys when they run leaf blowers and string trimmers right outside my window. I don't hear the garbage trucks. I get utter silence. I sometimes have an allergic reaction to silicone, and these are silicone-free. I have not had any allergic reaction to them at all. I love these so much that I also now own the Alpine party plugs and used them at a very loud concert where I was the only one in our group actually enjoying the music. And I own the Alpine flight plugs and they are amazing for preventing ear pressure. What amazing products these guys make!
