KX-T7731 24 Button Display Phone Black

This is an excellent phone for use with Panasonic KX-TA824 controller and probably some other Panasonic Advanced Hybrid phone systems. Be aware that you can’t plug this telephone into an ordinary phone line or VOIP network connection. This phone is designed to work exclusively with Panasonic’s system units. You can place the phone on a desk or mount it on a wall using a standard modular wall plate. I have a large home and wanted the ability to have several telephones which I could use as intercoms as well as phones. I considered setting up Asterisk on a Linux machine or buying remote PBX service from a VOIP provider. I have previously managed medium size business systems with VOIP extensions and ISDN PRI trunks and it was a chore to provision and maintain them. For home or small to medium businesses, Panasonic systems are much easier to install and set up. Out of the box, Panasonic systems are almost plug-and-play, allowing features to be activated as the administrator becomes more savvy. It is nice not to have to jump in hip deep on the first day, yet have a working system. I really like that the KX-TA824 auto detects between proprietary and old analog extensions, even rotary dial extensions. It is great not to have to buy a whole pile of new phones at the outset. This phone specifically gives a lot of features for the money. Dedicated buttons make it easy to pick up, transfer or conference calls between extensions, including old analog phones. The speaker phone function is excellent with great volume and clarity and virtually no echo. Backlit keys are a nice touch. One thing you need to be aware of is that this phone needs a four-wire modular wall cord. If you a purchase a longer wall cord, be sure you get cord with all four wires. If you would rather not deal with the VOIP leaning curve this is a good way to go.

CAUTION: Not only did this phone come without any instructions at all, it is not compatible with regular phone lines, it is only compatible with a Panasonic PBX system!!!!!! The only way I found this out is after I received the phone by reading the reviews of others who had to go through a frustrating investigation via the manufactures of the phone. This item of information is nowhere to be found in the description of the phone in the advertisement for it on Amazon. I love Amazon and I am sure this is a great phone if you have a PBX system, however, the fact that it did not come with any instructions or owners manual and that the fact it is not compatible with regular phone systems by the manufacturer is deceptive and misleading.

This is the matching phone for the KX-TA824 key system unit. Works great & is oem from Panasonic.

Meets the functions for our needs for the moment. Good for small businesses. Has been nicely incorporated with our inter-building paging system.

Easy to use. Just plug it in and you are good to go. This model hasn't changed noticeably since I bought my first one 11 years ago which attests to its excellent design and popularity. It is durable as well so if you are prone to slamming phones you should be okay with this model.

Ordered as an addition to my company's phone system because it is the same type as the others we have had for several years. Delivery within 2 days and great price. I have no doubt it will serve me well for many years to come, just as all the others have.
