Great All-In-One Tool
This is a reasonably priced knife for everyday outdoor carry, kit, or bug-out bag. The knife is sharp out of the package and the sheath appears surprisingly well built. This piece feels nice in your hand and the sheath seems good and of nice quality with what appears to be high quality stitching as well. As you can see in my photos I have made a few personal modifications like adding a leather dangler so the knife rides lower and hopefully provides some strength and longevity to the sheath strap. Another reason is the ability to add it to your belt or molle on your bag. The paracord is nicely placed and gives additional cordage for a leg tie or any other needs. Like others the ferro rod rides upside down but is FIRMLY secure to the sheath with a gasket seal and requires some effort to deploy it. Keep in mind that the ferro rod is a last resort so you should not have to remove it constantly if as always you carry matches or a lighter. I am very confident that it will stay in place with minimal risk of coming out or becoming lost. I would by this again and recommend it to anyone looking for a cost effective outdoor, kit, or bug-out-bag knife.

Great knife, not so great sheath, still worth the money.
The knife is well made and sharp. The sheath will break easily. There is a little tab on the front that has the brand name on it that breaks off easily. When broken will still hold the knife. Gerber sent me a brand new one as they honor their lifetime warranty. Great fire starter, whistle works well too. Sharpener is nice to have.

A " truly " ultimate knife
So I have been using this knife for a few days now and so far I haven't found one thing about this blade that I don't like I bought it for a survival go bag that I am packing and as far as blades go this is one the sharpest , sturdier blades that I have had the pleasure to own I wish I had this blade when I was in the army . It's performance and added features truly elevate this blade to its namesake the "ultimate" survival knife so far it has lived up to that I'm very hard on equipment/ tools etc. This blades quality is unparalleled especially for its budget friendly price point . Another thing I really like about this knife is its grip and added features like a fero rod , and knife sheets that also has a very handy blade sharpening stone mounted to the back of the sheeth . I highly recommend this knife for any outdoorsman , survivalist , etc. This blade is made of high grade steel to ensure its strength and sharpness.

Great knife!
Love this knife, sharp and great weight. The ferro rod came out of it's holder but that was an easy fix.

Just a minor issue
Love the knife. Useful, not too big, not too small. The perfect carry when I'm camping. The one thing that gets under my skin is the weak flint holder. It's a compression fit and it is very weak. Luckily my family has found it every time it falls out. The tiniest little thing causes it to fall out. Again, just my two cents but I wish it had a more secure system because I do use this very often. The knife though, is amazing.

Very High Value-for-Dollar
I have always thought Gerber products are among the highest value for dollar products on the market. This is no exception. I just added this knife to my collection in order to have a brand-new , versatile "survival knife" in a specific Go-Bag parked with survival items to have in my Jeep. This knife has outstanding features and specs for the price and checks all the boxes. Is it a $180 Benchmade pocket knife or one of their $400+ fixed-blades? No. That doesn't make it chopped liver. Very useful and utilitarian and again, it's very hard to beat for the price - And while I love Benchmade and they have outstanding customer service and a ridiculous warranty - Gerber has a lifetime warranty too! As long as you're not one of those jokers who purposefully break their blades on YouTube and then say "This is junk!" - you're golden. MY ONLY GRIPE - The only real difference between this knife and the former "Bear Grylls Ultimate PRO' is that the BG Ultimate Pro was made out of 9Cr19MoV and this particular knife is made out of 7CR17MoV ... because it's an extreme value steel that Gerber uses to produce great deals. Simple as that. The BG Pro was a $105+ knife best price ... YEARS ago ... and I just got this bad boy for $46.68 ... the Prodigy is listed on the same page at almost $90. That's made out of 420HC ... and I already have an LMF Infantry II made out of 420HC... I am sure the Prodigy is a great knife, but again, while it would be NICE if this particular knife was made out of the 9Cr17MoV, I am perfectly content with 7Cr17MoV at this price! Highly Recommended.

Big solid knife. Nice heavy feel. I use for hunting, fishing and as a tool...it so far stands up well and sharpens fairly easily.

The Gerber Ultimate Survival Knife feels solid and reliable from the moment you hold it. The blade is sharp and holds its edge well, and the grip feels secure even when wet. I really like the added fire starter and whistle — perfect for camping or emergencies. Overall, a tough and well-balanced knife that’s built to last — really good quality gear.

If you're looking for a reliable, durable knife for outdoor adventures, the Bear Grylls Camping Knife is definitely worth considering. As a longtime fan of Bear Grylls and his survival gear line, I had high expectations, and I’m happy to report that this knife meets most of them—and then some. The first thing you’ll notice about this knife is its rugged, military-inspired design. The handle is made from a textured rubber material, which provides a solid, non-slip grip—even when your hands are wet or muddy. The knife feels sturdy in the hand, with a well-balanced weight that makes it comfortable for both light tasks and more intensive use.
