Instant Results on Tough Bathroom Stains
I bought the RMR-86 Instant Mold and Mildew Stain Remover to tackle stubborn stains in my bathroom, and it worked far better than expected. I used it on mold stains in the shower grout and along the caulking, and the results were almost immediate—the stains started disappearing within minutes with very little scrubbing. The spray was easy to apply, and it saved me a ton of time compared to other cleaners I’ve tried that require repeated applications or hard scrubbing. One small improvement would be the strong smell during use, good ventilation is definitely a must. That said, the effectiveness more than makes up for it. After using it, the surfaces looked noticeably cleaner and brighter, and the stains haven’t come back so far. Overall, this is a powerful, no-nonsense cleaner that does exactly what it promises and is well worth having on hand for tough mold and mildew problems.

FORTUNE & GLORY
Ok, seriously, if you’re brave AND a home owner, BUY THIS. This is the literally the BEST product for mold or mildew i have ever used. YES, it may need to be evaluated by the Chernobyl Nuclear Assessment Team down the road, but PLEASE let me explain and leave some application pointers #1) If you're not using PPE + a respirator, make SURE you only plan to work on small patches at a time, and in a well ventilated area you can get in and out of to fresh air quickly. I cannot stress this enough. This stuff is STRONG. As in...BLEACH x about 5. You can Taste It. Do NOT BREATH IT! If you can, hold your breath, hold the bottle at a safe distance, spray the area quickly, then runaway! “Spray. Then Runaway.” #spraythenrunaway #2) Get a CLEAN towel and place it under the door crack of the room you run out of after spraying. use it, ALWAYS! Clean towel is your buddy here. #3) After 15 minutes, Hold your breath and check out your progress carefully. It dries VERY quickly and the smell/fumes drop to a good 1/2 of what they are during initial application. Again, wait AT LEAST 15 minutes before checking. More mold? Spray a bit more in the areas that need it, ...runaway #spraythenrunaway, ....wait 15 more mins and check again....same process as above. #4 Repeat protocol until about 15-25% of mold or mildew remains. #5 WAIT 2-5 HOURS then check again. At this point, the mold should be almost 100% gone. #6 IF more application needed, repeat process again as many times as needed, ....then proceed to fortune and glory. My Actual Spray Process I used on our Bathroom Window Casing: 1. Remove Blinds. 2. Cut large piece of cardboard out to use as a mask for window vinyl, steel or fibrex behind the wood casing. 3. Grab paper towels, about 10 squares and fold them into little wads that can be stuffed at the bottom of the window sill's left and right sides to catch the runoff from the vertical side casings. 4. Grab a small ziplock bag to store the used paper towels in and keep them sealed up and the fumes contained. You can just leave that in the sink. 5. Get a fan and set to low about 3 feet from the open window and blowing toward it. 6. Grab your cardboard and your RMR 86, take a deep breath, hold it....hit the left side wood casing, using the cardboard as a mask for the window behind the casing, hit the right side, same process. Do NOT try and do the top casing, or spray will potentially come back down on you and get on your skin. Don't overspray. Just hit them quickly enough to cover each side. About 15-20 seconds total should be fine. Stuff paper towel squares in the lower right and left window frame, runaway! (for me, I closed the door behind me and stuffed a paper towel under it. Worked like a charm as the smell never got into the rest of the house. 15 minutes later, I cautiously walked back in each time, smelling carefully from a distance and as I approached, as I said, the fumes and volatility drops a LOT after the first 15 minutes but is still STRONG! I removed the paper towels used to capture the runoff in the lower left and right sills, sealed them in the baggie, dropped it back in the sink. Then went outside the room to fresh air, took another deep breath and repeated step 6. Our casing was BAD, so I had to hit it about 4x over an hour. For me, and because I was doing such a small area with plenty of ventilation, I did not go full PPE or respirator. I used long dish gloves, goggles and held my breath each application, keeping the airflow via a fan pushing air OUT the wide open window and as to move any overspray or fumes outside asap. The first application, not a lot of difference. Second, BIG difference. By application 4, 85% of the mold and mildew were gone and we were looking at CLEAN wood. Next morning, I checked and the mold was 100% GONE...so this stuff KEEPS working long after that 15 minute mark. I'd say it likely keeps working up to 24 hours after application so expect to see additional progress on the affected area up to a day later. For the TOP casing, I waited until the sides were treated as explained above. Then 2 days later, I used the same ventilation setup as before. This time, I grabbed a paint brush, poured a tiny bit of rmr 86 into a plastic cup, and lightly painted it onto the top casing, still wearing gloves and goggles. It took more applications...i believe 5 or 6, but was a lot less stressful as I was using so little of the stuff and the fumes, although still bad, were no where near what spraying did. Each application, I'd let sit 15-20 mins, and I kept the paint brush and tiny bit of RMR solution in a cup in the sink so I could just grab and go each new session or dump out with running water. This worked well on the top casing as it was no where NEAR as caked as the left and right sides were, but something tells me, spraying/aerating this stuff out of the bottle must increase effectiveness, as it IS a corrosive and reacts with O2. I'd say if you're doing ANY job larger than what I described here, go Full PPE with Respirator and make SURE the room you are working out of is well ventilated and siphoned OFF from the rest of the house. If you're just squirting a few corners of your bathroom...1-2 squirts, 1 area at a time, then gloves, eye protection and lotsa of ventilation should be fine. Higher up areas, I'd recommend the paintbrush trick. And I'd personally NEVER try and spray multiple areas in the same room...I'd do 1 at a time and leave. Even a few squirts in a few areas adds up fast, and you don't want to create a potential "fume trap" by which you get a breath of lingering spray and burn your lungs/throat, etc. Not worth it!

Works like MAGIC!
Man, I wish I took before photos so I could show how amazing this product is but I was doubtful. My apartment vents the dryer inside the apartment and the bathroom ventilation is not the best. So I get mold sometimes above the shower. I figured this would be worth a shot. The mold was GONE in 30 seconds! Like GONE GONE. Like it was never there. The smell is strong but we'll worth the trade since it works in LITERALLY 30 seconds. No scrubbing. Just wiped with a damp cloth to rinse the area.

Amazing grout cleaner
Thai is a wonderful product for grout. I do not know long term effect on grout but it definitely works well without the need for a toothbrush. Just let it sit and rinse. I gave it only 4 stars because the scent is really strong.

RMR-86 Instant Mold and Mildew Stain Remover Spray
THIS STUFF WORKS! VERY STRONG FUMES! ***Be prepared with proper personal protection***. I used a respirator mask from Harbor Freight, gloves and safety glasses. Removed the mold/mildew from my smaller bathroom shower ceiling completely with zero scrubbing. Sprayed, let sit for about 15-20 minutes. Returned and stains were GONE. Do it at a time that you can open the windows to air out your house and no one is home for a couple hours, even the dog, lol Yeah, it's that strong a smell. It's been several months and the stains have not returned. Barely used 25% of the bottle.

bang for your buck
I’ve been looking for something that actually works against mildew especially in the shower, and I’ve came across this and its one of the products that works as it says. It works within a minute no scrubbing for 20mins etc no rinse and repeat. Spray, let sit, & when you come back it’s gone. I would say two downsides is that it does leave steaks, so either clean it off right away or after those 15mins but honestly that’s fine as long as it gets the mildew away thats the real issue.l anyway. The second one is the smell, it’s strong as heck. So keep your windows open, put a fan in the room so it can ventilate. Keep your animals and children rooms away from the room you’re cleaning because the smell is definitely strong. Wear long sleeves, gloves, and a mask. Because it smells like it will burn your skin if made contact with it. If you’re going to use this on a ceiling i definitely say wear protective goggles so the spray doesn’t go in your eyes. Rather be safe than sorry. But besides that, it’s a good product and I’d definitely buy more in the future.

Works great
Works really well! Spray on let sit and mold is gone! I live on the coast in a cinder block home, when the humidity is above 90 the walls can sweat and in the bathroom even with the vent on when its cold out, the walls sweat and it creates mold. I used a bleach solution a few times but hated the bleach smell. Tried this and it doesn't have a strong odor, just spray it on wait an hour and I wipe it with a damp towel. Stays clean for months.

This smells just as it should because it DOES THE JOB. Killed stubborn mould without touching or scrubbing. Very strong But it did smell which is understandable. Did it in the morning and left windows open all day. Expensive but it did the job so was definitely good value instead of wasting money again on a cheaper product that’s less effective

It promises to remove mildew stains from concrete and stucco. We followed the directions exactly and it made absolutely no difference. I wasted $90. I got better results with vinegar. Very dissatisfied.

Great product and to be honest it blew me away with how effective it was. Removed all the mold and did not leave any stains. I would advise to wear a mask as it is quite strong and does produce a lot fumes which can be quite irritating

I was a little sceptical about this product especially given the price and claims even more that given products I've used barely work with multiple applications and hard scrubbing. But WOW this product actually works and does so within seconds. No idea what is in this stuff and would advise strongly wearing gloves and if you are spraying a ceiling some eye guards but this literally makes mould varnish in front of your eyes. The time this saves is worth the added coat alone. I think I've discovered a miracle..

This product is really good. It removes limestone yellowing, mildew, and whitens the crevices and sealant brilliantly and fast. It takes all the effort out of keeping mold and staining out of the bathroom. Some minor setbacks include a leaking spray unit, which I've seen reported in some reviews and I'm experiencing myself. You certainly do not want it to stay on your hands for long, you must rinse immediately! It's definitely got strong bleach in it too, and is a strong alkaline. CAUTION IS ADVISED! Read the instructions! Wear nitrile gloves or kitchen gloves for use. That's how badass this is! I ended up buying some empty spray bottles and replacing the one it came in because it leaked all over my fingers during operation. This maybe a fairly isolated incident, but as I've written above, some reviews here say the same thing. Overall, if you are willing to adapt as I have, its the BEST ever product of its type I have found so far. Used with common sense and caution, it will serve you well!
