Zentangle 7: Inspiring Circles, Zendalas & Shapes

Good book for people who like to mindlessly. doodle. If you try doing it mindfully, you can create beautiful, framable art. Page after page of patterns you can create using a ultra-thin black Sharpie pen (works best) or other drawing instrument. Creating repetitive patterns is a soothing experience…Zen-like, thus the name.

Zentangle is an easy to learn art form. If you can make and connect four dots (to make a square), you can do Zentangle. A "tangle" is a small design that you can use in a larger piece. The books have many, very ornate, designs that have been made by Zentangle instructors (CZTs). They might be intimidating for beginners. However, individual designs are featured. Look at them before the intricate designs. Zentangle is inspired by Zen Buddhism, yet its focus is on relaxation and mindfulness.

I have been giving out mandal books and markers for gifts. I find them relaxing for those that are struggling with activities with the current Coronavirus restrictions. I was disappointed when a receiver called me about this book. They were excited, yet they could not color. I immediately went back out and bought I think her name is Angie Grace and decided to stick with products I know. Now to find a good felt pen at a decent price?

I have only begun tangling and found Zentangle 7 to be very helpful in showing me patterns to use in my work. I find myself looking for other Zentangle books to give me more insight into an art form that is becoming very addictive to me. Good resource for all!

I ordered this for my husband (in prison!) and didn't realize that you needed some kind of item besides the book to create these, so it's worthless to him in there! =[Zentangles are an awesome blend of meditation and drawing though and I still recommend them!!

I am disappointed in this book. Although the book does give you some basic instruction on different tangles, it seriously lacks instruction on how to start the zentangle in the round. On one page is show using stencils for the shapes, what? I have to now buy stencils, don't think so. After reading the 10 or so pages of the book, I still don't know where to start with my inspiring circles.

I'd call this good for intermediate tanglers ... you'd want a basic understanding of what Zentangles are. But using them in a circle is a great extension of one of the best 'new' art forms of the last few years. I'm by no means an artist, in that I don't draw or paint, but tangling is forgiving, interesting, fun, and great to share. This is a good addition to any tangler's library.

Zentangle enthusiasts rejoice ! Susanne McNeill has written a super publication to guide fledging artists in pursuit of Zentangle artistry. Zentangle 7 provides a well rounded approach to the critical elements of Zentangle design and encouranges readers to experiement and develop their talents in wonderful compositons. Would highly recommend everyone to use her guide to this exciting form of art.

I have allways wanted to try this but never had time the item is as desvribed and very easy to follow even I can do a little bityou can just had a llittle hear and there and the project can look amazing and you can just do it watcing t.v.delivery was very fast

Another book in the Zentangle series, new tangles with step by step instructions and variations, project ideas and development suggestions. Great reference book for beginners and more experienced tanglers alike. Arrived quickly, would recommend.

I am fairly new to Zentangle and this book contains some great ideas for letters. It has really helped me build confidence in my drawing abilities

This Zentangle book stretches the imagination further and is just what every Zen crafter will find invaluable in improving their tangles.

I've learnt a lot from this book. drawing the different designs and shapes in the circles are very relaxing. I have books 2to 7 and find them all very good and are helping me become more creative.
