Sadly the on-board audio card took a crap and stopped working
I have an old Gateway computer in my workshop that was given to me for scrap. I loaded Vista (the original OS) and was able to get it setup as a "media type" computer. Sadly the on-board audio card took a crap and stopped working. I was connecting the headphone jack to a Craig's List Pioneer stereo receiver to blast my Pandora and YouTube tunes while working. I found this PCI card, an inexpensive and awesome alternative to replacing the free computer. Took a few hours to get it to work, the DVD drive did not want to work correctly. Had to go to the Rosewill 5.1 drivers page and download the software. I then installed the card after shutting down the computer. When the computer rebooted I was able to hear the sounds of windows again! Back to jamming in the shop while working on the projects. Price was around $21 with Prime 2 day shipping. Very happy with this purchase!

Sounds great now, all speakers working when they should be ...
Bought this card strictly for the small PCB, I have a micro case and my GPU was getting a bit warm smooshed up against my old full sized PCB Sound Card...had a bit of trouble installing the drivers, finally downloaded updated drivers and after I extracted the folder, instead of going into the "WIN7" folder and running the driver install within that file, I just ran the install that was located in the base folder after I extracted. The first few times I tried it, it was telling me that the card was not plugged in, even though my device manager showed it. After a reboot, and an install of the correct driver, I finally got it working. Once I had it working, I selected 5.1 option from the "configure speakers" option within the playback device window...at this point, it still wasn't separating my rear speakers, it was then I realized there was a new item in my control panel called "C Media PCI Audio" Once I selected this, it enabled me to select rear speakers and set my center, and front speakers as well as my subwoofer. Sounds great now, all speakers working when they should be working. The only issue I have so far is when it's turned up loud, there is a bit of fuzz feedback, its not a buzz like a ground loop, just a very faint white noise, I can't hear it when I'm playing so I'm not real upset about it. Overall, good card for the money.

This card worked just fine, it did glitch intentionally(choppy audio) but on the ...
The mother board i had instantly disabled its on board audio and video if a video card alone was inserted. So after I learned that I also need to purchase a separate audio card since my video card was not always active (one port to monitor with no audio and and HDMI port to a TV that was only running sometimes for movies). This card worked just fine, it did glitch intentionally(choppy audio) but on the second reboot with no operate assistance it sorted itself out and works perfect.

RIP OFF!
I put this card in my pc, switched off the onboard audio hardware, uninstalled the old drivers, then rebooted, then installed the software, rebooted twice to be sure, and tried to configure my creative 5.1 sound system speakers, but the C-meda card still treats the sound system as if it were just a 2 speaker system. Maybe 2.1. Everything's going through the front speakers. Nothig's coming through the center, or rear speakers. Now I have to order a new sound card. This thing's so cheap, it's just going right into the bin. I'll not even bother to return it. Maybe I'll use it as a part for my 3 foot borg cube model, or a door stop. This sucks! :(

Died in two days
Worked fine for the first day and then started to make a skipping sound, tried to update the drivers and it was still there. I then used the onboard sound card an no more problems. I would not recommend this card.

Simple card that works
This card was purchased for an older Lenovo workstation that didn't have proper driver support for the on board sound chipset. This Rosewill card installed easily and the drivers work fine in Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit. This is used in a business environment so sound quality wasn't really something we were looking for great quality on. The sound is clear, with no noticeable static or other issues.

Rosewill 5.1 Channel PCI Interface Sound Card.
I like this item. Works great, simple installation, small foot print. One of my X58 boards the sound went out. Plugged it in, went to the Rosewill site downloaded the driver, which is the 2nd choice, there are 2, for Windows 7. Windows connected their sound to it after a reboot from the driver installation. Runs in 2 channel mode.Inexpensive fix.Delivered on time, packed perfect, Outlet PC always does a good job.
