BEST AMP IN A PEDAL I'VE HEARD AND YOU GET 3 OF THEM
My church is small and I always used my 65' Fender Deluxe. 22 watts and I was always too loud on 2 1/2. They wanted to go ampless and have the instruments go direct to address these issues. Over the years I've owned and used many processors and pedals and I never found anything good enough. So here are the pluses. Well for me nothing compares to a real tube amp but the Iridium really does the trick and I am satisfied with my sound. It sounds great and I'm getting great live sound with the 3 amp models and speaker cab choices. It takes pedals better than any processor I've ever tried. The reverb choices are nice. They are only room reverb but that's what I use any way. The only negative is- It can only save 1 preset and for the money it should be able to save and erase more presets and they be identified by colored led's. .

The gold standard for amp/cab/IR pedals
There are a million video demos and online reviews so I'm just here to leave 5 stars. It sounds great recording and just playing with headphones, and takes pedals extremely well--klon, vibe, etc. Full disclosure: the power supply died on the first day but I use it with an isolated supply anyway. The pedal itself is well worth the price.

Best in class, built to last, and makes me sound amazing.
It really is the best Amp/cab modeler out there for the low to mid range. I also appreciate the fact that it is made in the US, and it is engineered to outlast me. My grandkids will be using this effects pedal!

Excellent pedal
This pedal sounds great, is built like a tank, and is easy to use.

This actually the way you expect it to.
I was expecting not to like this because so many other pedals that make these tone claims have been a disappointment. All the vintage amp tones nailed it. Fender deluxe, vox in ac30, and Marshall plexi all shine thru with wide dynamics for adjustment. So you’re wondering why not 5 stars? Because the “Room” effect needed to be a spring reverb, this knob is useless, I leave it off. I shouldn’t have to go to YouTube to get an explanation about a new pedal. The manual lacks data, and offers poor guidance to what the knobs and switches mean and do. In conclusion this pedal is a winner, I’m looking forward to buying other strymon pedals. Btw, if you think you’re going to plug this into your guitar amp, you’ll have some massive adjusting to do, the pedal is so dynamic my combo didknow how to handle it. This is definitely a direct box type pedal.

Iridium Not Like an Amp
The Iridium does not sound like an amp. When I bought this I thought I was covered under Amazon rules but this was sold thru a third party vendor and now I am stuck with this $400 mistake. If I were to send it back I would have to pay a 20% restocking fee. I suppose in the end it is my fault for thinking I was buying from Amazon. Live and learn. My advice is, if you think you are buying a good alternative to your amp, your not. The Iridium does not react like an amp at all and it works even worse if you plug an overdrive or distortion into it. So no, the Iridium is not a good alternative to an amplifier. What a waste of money! If I could return it I would but it will cost me $80 to return it. Buyer be ware, not everything sold on Amazon is sold by Amazon and you could be subject to restocking fees to the tune of 20%.

Best amp-sim pedal, bar none
I tried the Tonex, Line 6, et al. for my worship board, but all were complex and temperamental. This simple pedal is exactly what you need to get true amp tones without all the fuss.

Strymon Irridium
Immediately plugging in headphones to listen to the base tones and manipulate the controls, I was totally impressed with the sound of this unit. Very sweet sounding AND very accurate to the models emulated. Step 2 was replacing the Atomic Amplifire at the end of my pedalboard with the Irridium to see how it took my pedals. The conclusion was that the Irridium did not take pedals nearly as well. After spending enough time to be certain of this, I was resolved to take it off. This would have resulted in a 4 star rating, because the base tones were really good and for many applications would be worth the price of admission. I took off another star because Irridium did not have an XLR output, which I knew when I ordered it. Fortunately, I had a direct box to convert 1/4" to XLR. The result of this was such a significant drop in volume as to have to rely totally on the mixers preamplifier to recover the signal. Overall the unit was not right for my application, but it may well be right for yours.

Great amp for silent recordings, great quality for a digital simulation , can add own IRs , also takes very well pedals even though doesn’t have fx loop I don’t think you really need them.. very quick to setup

And last but not least, der Streymon ist sowas von unkompliziert. Also ich bin begeistert.
