15% Max Strength Lugols Iodine Solution Dr

Lugol's high-strength iodine was terrific and although not the Continental stinging type, did disinfect scratches and deeper wounds very effectively. Made in the UK, I can recommend it, but can't find it under this name anymore. That is because it has been rebranded as Bob's (with the Lugol name secondary). This version is also good, but I miss the sting of raw iodine (so you know it is working!)

Research showed me, most of us are iodine deficient? Who knew? This brand is 15% and I take 2 drops in a sml glass water per day. Tastes ok.

Ordered this instead of our usual Heiltropfen Lugol’s, which we’ve used for years. There should be information on the label, or the listing, about how much iodine and how much potassium iodide is in each vertical drop of 0.05ml. This product doesn’t give that. Heiltropfen does. Heiltropfen12% - Each vertical drop (approx. 0,05ml) contains: 15,2 mg iodine solution (6 mg iodine and 9,2 mg iodine from potassium iodide. This brand carries no such information. 15% is the highest strength you can have, because at that point, the solution is completely saturated with iodine, so be wary of sellers who claim theirs is higher than 15%. It’s not physically possible. I’ve seen some advertised as being 20%. I’m not saying the following applies to this product, but many of them add the iodine and the potassium iodide numbers together to make 15%, when in fact the 15% should only apply to the iodine content alone. We used one bottle of this, and it wasn’t as effective as the Heiltropfen, so we’ve gone back to that. I see some reviewers are using this for wounds- Lugol’s is designed for internal use. Topical iodine is not for internal use, hence the skull and crossbones symbol on each bottle, but is a lot cheaper if you are only using it externally. Never mix Lugol’s into drinks with a metal spoon as it changes the chemical structure. Always use glass, wood or plastic - we use an old plastic picnic knife, but a wooden chopstick or a glass aromatherapy stirrer stick are equally good. Can be added to hot or cold drinks, or food. For more information about Lugol’s, please look at the work of The Iodine Doctors (Guy Abraham, David Brownstein,and Jorge Flechas) and also read Lynne Farrow’s “The Iodine Crisis.” It’s also possible to make it yourself. You need accurate scales, distilled water, iodine, potassium iodide, a dark glass bottle and some time. I think the last batch I made took me about 3 hours. Recipes are online on various Lugol’s and health sites. I don’t doubt that this product is Lugol’s, but I do doubt that it is the maximum strength of 15%. However, there is no technical data supplied with this product to ascertain this one way or the other.

As our bodies can’t make iodine, it must come from our diets, hence I have been using 2 drops daily for apx 5 weeks with a rest of 3 months, has helped to regulate heavy periods. Cleans the cells with many other uses, best to read Dr Marc Sircus book on Iodine or go to a good naturopath for guidance first. I've also been using it for toe nail fungus and warts, also as an antiseptic although it does stain. A must have in the medicine cabinet, sadly no longer available in the chemists.
