Great Movie!
I've been waiting for a Sonic movie for a while now and when this one came out this year, it definitely delivered. The story is basic so that the groundwork is easily set for sequels. The revised Sonic design nails being both cool and cute, although I'm not fully satisfied with Ben Schwartz's performance. His take on the character reminds me more of Dewey from the Ducktales reboot when he speaks, as opposed to sounding like Ryan Drummond or Jason Griffith. There was still some great line delivery here and there, but I do hope Ben Schwartz only voices Sonic in the movies and not in any future games. Sonic's character is very kind but also very naïve. The writers intentionally started him back so viewers can watch him grow to be braver in the first movie and the sequels. It was a good call, even if some of the childish things he does during the movie can be considered cringeworthy. He's a kid who will grow out of it. Dr. Robotnik and the other human characters are surprisingly good, although many are at times given poor dialogue to work with. Very obvious advertisements for Zillow and Olive Garden are sprinkled through the movie in very forced segments. Once the character finishes their promotional lines, it's back to the main plot and they speak normally again. I like the police officer and his wife (Donut Lord and Pretzel Lady) and I hope that their characters are expanded upon more in the future. Out of all the human characters, Robotnik and his assistant Agent Stone are the best. The two actors work very well together and remind me of the Robotnik/Snively dynamic from the Archie Sonic comics but in a cool, unique way. I wouldn't mind if Agent Stone replaced Dr. Robotnik's current lackeys in the games, Orbot and Cubot. The soundtrack was nice, and included at least one track from the franchise's large collection of soundtracks. I'm hoping for the sequel they throw it a couple more at the perfect times. Many fans are hoping that Dr.Robotnik/Eggman's theme song E.G.G.M.A.N. will be one of the tracks chosen in the future. People are very excited. The movie has mixed reviews, but as for me and many of my close friends, we absolutely loved it. It's in my top five favorite movies and I can't wait to see more.

Gotta go fast
I was ready to write this off as another failed adaptation of a popular video game. Boy, was I wrong. This was a fun fish out of water type of adventure between a small town cop and the blue blur. And the fact it got two sequels, becoming a whole franchise, I couldn't be more excited.

A great movie, a great disc
I like it about as much as all the others in the series. The HD transfer is, of course, excellent and has a lot of extras if you're into that sort of thing. Of course, it comes with the ever-worthless DVD and digital versions, but maybe someone will get something out of them.

This is most recommended for kids and worth wile for others.
All and all this is a very acceptable film and exceptional for a game adaptation. This is particularly good for kids. Compare to adults that grew up in the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and the first half of the 2000s (I was a kid between the late 90s and 2000s) I believe kids these days have a very scarce number of movies their generation that is the least bit decent. This movie addresses this problem. It’s a film that is simple yet fun to watch. None of the blandness or senselessness that’s found in most kid film. It’s not a masterpiece for there was not too much going story wise but the acting and character development is concrete. As a major fan of Sonic, I’m glad we got a decent cinematic adaptation, and I think today’s kids will take this and be very proud 20 years from now as a legit film that will have significant nostalgia value.

Simple, but entertaining!
So I went into this movie with some serious doubts.. I thought it was gonna be remarkably cheesey, cringy, and just plain weird, just like sonic with the current state of Sega. I was wrong. The movie was definitely not perfect, but it delivered on a totally new iteration of Sonic that blew most others out of the water! His attitude, his personality, his demeanor, it screamed 90s Sonic. The best version of Sonic by far! To be fair, there were flaws in this film, but overall is a solid flick to flip on when you wanna kick back and enjoy. There's not too much complexity, the plot could be considered "basic", but sometimes, simplicity works better than complexity, this is one of the cases where it does work! For all of us, the Sonic Fan Community, newbies, families with small children, it is a solid movie for everyone. Now for the actual product, it isnt too bad, but not impressive either. The comic it comes with is a lamenated, very much simplified version of the movie's plot. I originally thought i was gonna recieve a copy of an idw comic, or an archie issue. Nope, just a simplified script with genesis-styled pixel art. As for the copies, its standard for a UHD product. It comes with a blu ray copy, a UHD, as well as a code for a digital hd copy. In conclusion, if you liked the film in theaters, buy this product, it is absolutely worth adding to your library.
