It may be a bit flimsy, won’t stand up to much abuse, won’t carry a heavy canvas, and it doesn’t look impressive. But it is perfect for what I need it for. I don’t think that it would be possible to have a quicker setup, simply hold the top hinge in two fingers and let go. It magically assembles itself because of the elastic cord running down the center of the hollow legs. The important part is that the part that holds your sign is completely adjustable, which I didn’t gather from other reviews. The little stands simply flip out and click into place on the round leg. This means that you can adjust the height pretty easily. I personally used this for an instructional sign for a photoshoot, and it worked excellently. It took about 20 seconds to assemble. I think that I spent more time staring in awe as it pulled itself together than it actually took to unfold. Re-folding it is a little more difficult, but not impossible. You just need some patience in how you grip it. It folds down small enough to fit in my gear bags and barely be noticed. I would love it if there were a canvas storage bag for it, but as is I simply saved the box to keep it from accidentally expanding in my gear bag, or getting crushed under heavier things. With some care, I have a feeling this will be a part of my kit for years to come.

My delivery arrived on the scheduled date. The stand is EXTREMELY easy to set up. It basically unfolds itself! And it's not difficult to breakdown and fold (start from the bottom and work upwards). The stand works perfectly! I used 24" x 36" posters. The stand was stable. No issues at all.

This was perfect for what I needed it for - a lightweight easel to display foam core signage at an event. It packs up small, setup takes about 3 seconds, and you can adjust the height of the display. I wouldn't use it in high traffic areas, and I doubt it will have extraordinary longevity - the elastic cord inside the collapsible legs is bound to give out, or the plastic display holders will break from stress/wear and tear over time. But I'm sure they will last for dozens of uses, so if you need something that you'll only setup a few times a year and dont want to make a major investment, you can't beat the price on these - I bought 4 because Prime offerred overnight delivery, I needed them next day for a work assignment, and I didnt want to spend a ton of my own money... and I'm keeping them, becauae I can think of a million other ways to use them, at work and outside it.

The design of this easel is similar to the "pop-open" tents, with heavy elastic cord running through the metal tubing that makes up the legs. This might seem suspect for durability, but I have one just like this from a local store that I've used (periodically) for years with no problems. The metal leg sections are well-made and heavy enough for wear without adding bulk. For lighter weight uses - like the birthday sign I needed it for - it's a great portable, compact solution to your display needs.

Worked for a few weeks but was pretty flimsy, NOT heavy duty at all. Then someone bumped it, our whiteboard crashed to the ground and broke and so did the easel!

I really like this easel! It was amazing to see it take on a life of its own as it "magically" assembled itself. It really wants to be assembled and it's sturdy even without checking each joint. The legs and sign holder are adjustable and it seems pretty sturdy for any purpose I can imagine using it for. I will be putting a foam board sign on it for a convention and the easel is perfect! It unassembled pretty easy (just twist a little and pull) and it folded up into a small size which would easily fit in a briefcase or bag.

This is a simple, lightweight easel - perfect for lightweight items. It is adjustable, in both the width of the legs from each other and the height of the rests. It also collapses really easily and stores away nicely. Great purchase and great price!

Lightweight and puts itself together. I am able to place a canvas or pads of art paper on easel and it acts as my backboard for this easel (without a backboard). I have desktop wooden easels. One cost $45 three years ago. Then I came across a desktop easel, similar to this lightweight very inexpensive one... for only $5. I saw for $175, a wooden standing easel with drawer. I paid $17 for this one I'm happily reviewing. Now I've money for the professional watercolors, pastels(oil & soft), pens, markers, etc!
