An excellent procuct that I use daily. Excellent customer support as well - the stand fell to the floor and was in its constituant pieces. - nothing was broken. How to put it back together? I contaced the company by email. They came back almost immeadiatly with helpful videos and instructions, and the stand is back together!

Item arrived damaged. Clearly seems it was damaged prior to transport/delivery as opposed to in-transit. For the money that is spent; this sort of things shouldn't be happening as its very disappointing given how functional the product is.

I love this stand. I've had it 3 years and use it daily, it usually sits to the side of my kitchen table so I can just slide it over when I have breakfast. I was struggling to read a heavy study Bible without injury to my wrists or neck. it supports the book and holds my page open. I can place it at the right focal distance for my eyes, at whatever height I need, no worry about tipping. I used it most often for the Ignatius Catholic Study Bible New Testament, which weighs a few ounces under 3 lbs. It measures 10.5 inches high X 7.25 inches wide X almost 2 inches thick, no problems at all. it also works great for small paperbacks that were awkward to hold open. I do wish the shelf that the book rests against was thicker. I now have the newly-released Old and New Testament, which arguably could have been split into two volumes. it is a full 3 inches thick and weighs a full 5 lb 9 inches. the stand takes the weight with no issues, but the spine isn't well supported if I'm reading at either end of the book. I came back to see if there is a newe/larger version, I'm not sure if the XL covers me in the right dimension.

I love that it can hoist up heavy big books to eye level. Sorry, getting old. Don't wanna deal with arm ache or neck ache. It's good when it's on a table. Was actually looking for this, but with a padded bottom, like a lap desk. I'm guessing all that weight (book, lap desk and this one) will be a bit much on my lap anyway, so upshot is.. this is perfect as is, in terms of expected functionality. Oh.. the steel things move up n down smoothly. the wooden support can't be in the hole if you want to fold the stand flat. Also, the sides of the stand are unvarnished. If you're bothered about that, get some varnish and DIY. Cuz honestly, I haven't seen a sturdy, adjustable height bookstand anywhere else. Edit: OK I'm taking away 1 star. The screw head had jagged edges n tore my book. Thank God I'm not as OCD anymore and won't be 100% bothered by this deformity. Life isn't perfect, neither am I nor this bleh piece of metal. Besides, now I've got an excuse to plaster stickers on the stand.
