Handy grab bag assortment. Wield these blades of varying lengths from 12" to 25" to whack and hack dense foliage and blaze new trails through untamed wilderness. Or use these hand tools to slice open watermelons, coconuts and squash in a single blow! Please note that styles may vary, and because this is a random assortment, you may receive more than one of the same style. Military-tough steel blades; Lengths vary from 12" to 25"; Wood or molded handles; Combat designed; Impact resistant; Styles may vary from those pictured. May include duplicates; Blade Material: Steel; Handle Material: Wood or molded polymer; Blade Length: Varied, from 12" to 25"; Country of Origin: Colombia; Condition: New, never issued Review: Wow - what a deal - A great deal - it's difficult to find any REAL surplus these days, everything is poor quality chinese knock-offs. I got a nice selection of styles, with two wood handles, and the rest plastic, but the plastic seems to be of good quality. They're not super sharp, I will touch up the blades, but machetes usually aren't super sharp, since you are hacking with them a thin edge wouldn't hold up anyway. I live in the desert, and I'm always trimming cactus and other prickly plants. These are perfect for that, snips just don't make it. I may buy another set to give as gifts. Review: Nice for the money - Nice for the money! I took one star because I only received four blades. They did refund what the cost of one would have been but I would rather have the the fifth blade. They all need sharpening.

Good quality for the money
I received the machetes as ordered and was excited to see the quality of them. They were very sharp for a machete with various sizes in the box. I immediately put three of them to work and easily cut through pencil thickness brush without dulling the blade. The variety allows for different cutting tasks without wearing out your arm. Super happy with my purchase.

Score
Would you get for the price I was impressed. I wish they had sheets with them but not that big a deal. My goal was really just for a 12-inch one which I got and very happy with the other ones are all just a bonus. The blades were kind of wavy if you're fanatical about that but other than that they cut well and are solid machetes.

decent ... don't expect much
First, you get a bunch for not a lot of money. That's something. But several were not sharpened. Like really not at all. More edge on some butter knives. When I did sharpen a couple, they held an edge about like a cut pop can. Hmmm. My kids enjoy whacking on brush that needs cleared with these, so they have their place, but it's not a "great deal" iMHO. Will keep them around for kids to whack with, but I'm still looking for a tool to do a man's job.... none of these fit that bill...

Great workable machetes
Got these for the hubby. All were fixed tangs, the handles were both wood and plastic-in good condition, but he said were comfortable. All had factory edges (with some burning) and need sharpening (which he'd do anyway). We received one Colima (mowing/clearing large swaths of brush); two panga (thick wood/bramble chopping/slicing), and two Latin/bush standards (multiple uses- especially for camping). The weight was nice; fairly balanced, and none of the blades were warped. They came wrapped in cardboard and tape. Will update after sharpening, and good oiling, and use. With three of the five specifically for clearing, he won't have any more excuses!

Be prepared to work on them
you'll get 5 big knives of varying quality. some had no edge bevel, some were done poorly. only 1 showed up sharp, but with burned edges. most had a bit of bend. if you need some extra knives and are willing to get out your grinders and whetstones, it's a decent deal. I agree these seem to be knives that got tossed off the production line when QA found the warping. Or, one of mine had the wrong edge beveled along half the length, I think that's why it got pulled. These definitely were never issued or intended to be issued to any military.

Great buy
Very nice for the price. I just wanted them to cut small trees down. I ordered a 2nd set for my son. If I had to say a con the handles need some work. I put a wrap on my handles for grip. Over all great look and price
