True story: I was replacing the sd card in my dash cam one afternoon when I heard the pitter patter of little bitty paws behind my dash. I thought to myself, "Surely there cannot be an ANIMAL inside my dash?" I verified with my husband to make sure I wasn't crazy.We took my truck for a drive up the highway to get ice cream and came back. The animal continued to squat.The next day, I called a pest control company who said, "Ma'am, that ain't us, you need to call a wildlife trapper."The trapper comes out and verifies there is indeed a squirrel in between my dash and the firewall of the engine bay. We pop the hood and it's created a cute little nest of palm tree nuts (why leave the house when you don't have to?) and chewed some of my wire casings. The trapper couldn't get him out and suggested I take my new truck to the dealer.I call the dealer and explain that I have an emergency and have a squirrel in my dash.Office scheduler: "A WHAT?"Me: A squirrel.Her: Ma'am, let me put you on hold real quick.They manage to squeeze me in and I drop my truck off that afternoon. It stayed at the dealer for five days while they tried to find the squirrel. They never find him and determine he must have jumped out at some point. I ask how I can keep the squirrel out of my engine bay and I'm told I need to leave my house more than two days a week.Meanwhile there IS a squirrel hanging out by my a/c unit outside, collecting palm tree nuts. We glared at each other. I shouted. It dropped the nut and ran down the opposite side of the fence toward the backyard.THIS. IS. WAR.Enter the Solar Ultrasonic Animal Repeller. Not only did I spray my engine bay with rodent repellent and stuff dryer sheets wherever I could, I also bought the Solar Ultrasonic Animal Repeller to stick in the ground near our ac units to deter that squirrel from getting near the driveway. I also stuck one in the backyard outside our lanai because he likes to climb our brand new, very expensive screen.Haven't seen him in a real long time. At least a month. So far this thing is working great!

Update just over one month after purchase: 🚨STOPPED working completely. Past the 30 days so I guess we’re out of luck.Initial review: We have been tormented by warring outdoor cats. Fighting right at our gate. Using it as a battleground / territorial litter box. Also terrifying our sweet indoor kitties with their shenanigans. We tried EVERYTHING. Vinegar, coffee grinds, *multiple* citrus scented deterrent sprays from the pet store. Nothing worked. We put this out and it worked on the first night! Suspect number one made his usual appearance on schedule. As you can see in the clip, he was definitely startled!! It almost looks like he managed to urinate before he ran away, but husband swears he didn’t & he was just in shock LOLHe FLEW away!What he, and his neighborhood friends, DIDN’T DO? Come back!! Not once since then! We have multiple cameras on the area. They have not been back!Very easy to set up, rechargeable batteries included. Great value for the cost, especially considering we had purchased twice that in various pet store sprays that never worked.Couldn’t be happier with this product. May buy one or two more to keep them at bay from all sides.

Update. STOPPED WORKING.HAD Been effective in keeping bears, raccoons etc away from grill area

We have a pond stocked with coy, which raccoons have decimated several times. These alarms have deterred them amazingly well. So we bought a total of 4 of them over a few months. Then, one by one, they stopped working. I plug them in, thinking the solar energy might not be enough - but it doesn't matter. Only one is still working. Now I'm trying a simpler version by another maker, with just the lights and high pitched sound - I always turned off the loud alarm because it's obnoxious, and wasn't necessary to repel them. The jury is still out on the simpler one.

simple enough to setup and use. results are inconsistent, really depends on the animal. there is a little jack russel terrier that will walk up and growl at it. the great dane is deathly afraid of it and will not walk in front of my house any more which is exactly what i want... this dog is the reason i bought it. the worthless female owner of said great dane thinks she can let him crap or pee anywhere he wants and just say 'oh sorry, it was an accident, he never does this' which is garbage because (she didnt know) i also bought a motion activated camera with notifications and cloud storage so that i could give the HOA the videos... but i digress. so since i installed this thing in front of my mailbox i have not seen that dog or his horrible mother in person or on my cam feeds.it also keeps the mocking birds from sitting on my mailbox and crapping all day long, so i killed bird and a mutt with a single stone lol.
