EZ Etch Etching Paste; 16oz; Tub, Tile, Wall Surround, Sink, Porcelain, Ceramic, Glass Fixtures; Increase Bonding; Low Fumes; Fast Acting

I used this on a 50 year old cast iron bathtub that was stained with iron. You will definitely want to clean the tub with comet and use a razor blade to scrape off any residue. I only did the tub and no surround since I was laying tile. I used about 3/4 of the bottle, let it sit for 20 minutes and wiped off with a sponge and water. It got rid of almost all of the rust stains I thought were permanent! Great product. I did use the refinishing kit afterwards. The primer was the only thing with an odor. If you get the slip resistant kit dont use too much of it. You definitely need 2 boxes if you are doing anymore than just a tub.

So, I repainted our tub when we first moved it because whoever did it before didn't do a great job. I sanded the tub, rinsed and dried then used this prior to using a tub repair kit and the paint is still holding strong! Ill be buying this again for my next project for sure!

It applies easily, I used a disposable brush. The removes easily with the enclosed scrub pad. I reinstalled the drain briefly the rinse the etchant. The gloves provided were durable and protective. Fumes were minimal easily handled by my painters mask with organic solvent filter ( activated charcoal). The glass enamel steel tub etched perfectly. The new finish adhered well. I do wish I had lightly sanded however since two or three odd artifacts appeared, so I will reapply a finish coat when I get around to it. I definitely recommend this tub enchant.

STRONG ODOR. You'll get complaints when using it but the tub turned out great from what it was.

Only choice out there. worked lightly, but really didnt etch that well. I had a couple spot the didnt adhere, had to redo.

RECOMMEND: Yes! It will save you significant time (vs. sanding/scouring). I used it on a bathtub repaint project. Unfortunately, the etching is not as strong as I hoped. PROs: • It works. It will etch your bathtub, but don't expect the original glaze to disappear. It will look shiny and scoured at the same time. (Difficult to explain.) • Little-to-no smell. It's super safe to use. There is no lingering odor. CONs: • I wish it would etch a bit more. It will work, but do not expect a miracle.
