Buy Avengers by Jonathan Hickman: The Complete Collection Vol. 1 1 by Jonathan Hickman, Jerome Opena;Steve Epting, Jerome Opena;Steve Epting (ISBN: 9781302925093) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Contents - This first collected volume of Hickman's Avengers actually contains Avengers #1-13, not #1-11 as listed in the description. This covers the first two arcs; Avengers World #1-6, The Last White Event #7-11, and the first two issues from the Infinity Prelude trade #12 & 13. I assume this is to match the fact that the Infinity Hardcover contains Avengers #14-23. So my advice would be to skip the second hardcover of this collection (which also contains Avengers #14-23) and buy the Infinity Hardcover instead. Since there is so much confusion over the issues contained I have uploaded a photo showing the contents from the back cover. Review: Hickman at his finest - Great introduction to avengers. If new to comics and only watched the movies this comic would still be ok to read, amazing work from hickman as per usual. Great story with great art

Glorious
Inventive, imaginative, incomparable, gloriously cinematic like that dream you don't want to wake from, but when you do its all written out in front of you.

Boring
The art is okay, great in places and not so great in others. The story bored me, doubt I'll read it again in a hurry.

My book just showed up in great condition, I skipped through the pages, and the binding looks nice and colours are great, no complaints at all. I recommend this book to anyone interested in Marvel. This is a great starting point for new and old readers. This book has the correct reading order for Jonathan Hickman's run on Avengers/New Avengers and if you wanted even more context for the things to come I recommend reading his Fantastic Four run, that happens before this, as well.

This Complete Collection continues Marvel's tradition of condensing legendary runs in easy-to-consume packages at great prices. This is the story/run that made Hickman a household name to us comic book geeks and from the very first issue, you can tell why. His trademark story-telling is on full display. Hickman is known to tell grand and compelling stories known for their awe-inspiring scope. This book is no different: Its the Avengers/Illuminati vs the end of everything. Hickman detractors will be quick to point out how the story moves at a snails pace but those of us who love Hickman appreciate his slow-burn and tension building. The only gripe of this Complete Collection is the fact that there's are 6 issues of filler after a VERY big cliff-hanger ending. I usually am ok with fillers in Complete Collection but 6 issues of a comedic story to off-set the very serious tone of the first half of the book seems like I was ripped off by Marvel. Still, this is a must read w/ a very attracting packaging and spine. This will look great on the shelf/collection.
