Pros: detail is better than most, looks great baby loves it going round, wheels move etc. Cons: as others said it’s bigger than you expect, and you need a lot of space round a tree to make it go round the bottom of a Christmas tree but that dims are available. Also would be nice if have a volume control, or way for it to move without train audio, it’s a sensory event for sure. Despite cons we love it and would recommend.

Expensive, but I think it's the only legit Polar Express train set available, and the kids love Polar Express; what can you do? The track you get with the train makes a small oval shape, and is pretty easy to fit together. Slightly easier than Lego, but harder than Trackmaster stuff. The bell that comes with the train is really bad, we've had cat toys which resembled a bell better than this one, which is a real shame. It just kind of rattles around. The train itself is pretty well made, stays on the track, and can go forwards and backwards; as well as playing sound clips from the film, a nice chug chug sound, and steaming sound when it's stationary. Overall, giving it four stars. It's really expensive and the bell is awful, but the kids really love it

This trainset is fantastic and much larger than I anticipated but this a nice surprise. With most train sets nowadays it would benefit from extra straight track as what comes in the pack is a very small oval considering the size of the loco. However this is a fantastic train set and I guaranteed hit as a gift!

Present for my grandson's 6th birthday. He loves trains. What a fantastic train set. Was everything I expected and much more. He loves the movie and was wowed by the gift. This is a great gift for any young child who loves trains. Good quality gift. Delivery was faster than expected. Amazon met all my expectations and I have since purchased another two quality gifts for Xmas. They were ordered 8 December, shipped 8 December delivered to my home 9th December. I spent months trying to decide on which Lionel train set I wanted to buy, for our Christmas tree. I couldn’t decide between the Polar Express train and the Harry Potter one. I ultimately chose the Hogwarts Express. When it arrived I was more excited than my kids. The train is quite large and plastic, which I wanted. It is still a good weight for being plastic. The plastic is very durable and I would highly recommend the plastic trains if you have kids that like to throw toys. The tracks are easy to put together. I did purchased extra tracks just so we could have more track options. I would most definitely buy a Lionel train set again! My husband wants to get the higher end trains from Lionel too. It’s worth noting that these trains can definitely take a beating. My 2 year old is by no means “gentle”. This poor train has been dropped and kicked a number of times. And it has held up great against our kids!

I am editing my review because of how quickly the batteries run out. This is a good train at an unbeatable price. Although the price is low, the quality is impressive. I have owned two of these trains and I love them both. It's only been a few years, so I can't attest to how it will hold up in 10 years +, but I have to say I'm pretty confident it will last a long time. You can just tell it's a good quality set when you pick up the cars and feel their weight. The controls are very simple and they're perfect for either a kid or an adult. I know it's mostly for kids, but I'm an adult and I just love it. I couldn't really afford to invest $400+ for my first train, and this one looks wonderful around the tree. It's awesome to have the remote which lets you control the speed, direction and play sound effects. If you're looking for a nice gift which can be used every Christmas for years to come I highly recommend this train. Also just so you know before purchasing: this is the cheaper model, so you won't be able to add additional cars like in the more expensive models of the Polar Express, but you can extend the track as long as you want, just make sure you buy the Ready to Play track. I rated volume control 1 stars, because there is no volume control, but it's a train and I wasn't really expecting that anyway. Ideally there would be a volume control, but it's ok as trains are supposed to make noise. Unfortunately the batteries don't seem to last that long, so just be prepared that you'll need to have a massive amount of batteries if you want to run it during the whole holiday season. Update: I think I've figured out that what happens: I think the batteries inside the controller weaken because I can't use the sound FX right now, but it still controls the train. When I turn the train on it doesn't have the train sounds either, but it still runs. I'm certain this will be fixed replacing the batteries, but I'm mentioning this because it is kind of a cool unintentional feature, because now I have the train still running and it isn't as noisy. So I think the batteries on the train last a while, but you just may need to replace the controller ones. I definitely recommend the train!

まず、綺麗な梱包で安心しました。返品した商品が、箱はボロボロ、中身はメチャクチャな状態で入っており、おまけの品もなく、疑心暗鬼になりました。新しく購入し直したこちらでは、全く問題ありませんでした！！カーブレールの入れ方に始め戸惑いましたが、表裏で入れていくとスッキリ収まるのがわかりました。レールに乗せる時に少々手間取りますが、このお値段で小さい子が触っても丈夫なリアルな大きな汽車です。大満足です！！
