Tamiya #87032 Masking Tape 18mm

I have tried every other type of painter's tape on the market for masking off model parts, but always got bleed through. Not with this stuff! It may cost more, but it's worth every penny in stress relief. And easy to use. Mask of the part, use an embossing tool to get the tape into crevices and paint or airbrush away! When the paint is completely dry, but not longer than 5 days, simply peel it off and enjoy crisp clean lines with no bleed. 5 stars and highly recommended! JPL

I have tried different types of tape for selective staining on woodworking projects as a furniture maker and the painter's tape you buy in the home centers is for latex paint, solvent based products and water borne clear coats will release the adhesive and/or leak under the tape. I bought the 6, 18, and 40 mm wide for different applications. It covers well and is somewhat transparent so you can see thru to what you are taping to below. Just make sure to burnish the edge so paint can't get under it.

Product was shipped promptly and the price of the tape and dispenser was very reasonable. While this is not an inexpensive tape, it is excellent for masking over previously painted areas because of its low tack, but do not use it over decals - it will pull them up. The width is nice as you can cut it to much smaller widths for fine line masking needs.

only 4 stars because the masking peeled some of the paint I masked off requiring me to very carefully touch up the already painted area, keeping in mind that I might not have properly prepped the area I masked. that said, this is a great masking tape as it does NOT bleed onto the masked area,

the best masking tape ever, in heft 18 mm width. the tape is very thin, hard to break, sticks awesomely, and peels easily. it comes in a roller that's worth to be exhibited at the moma. buy it just for the hell of it. (that wasn't good advice, oops). ok, buy this tape and began masking stuff just for the hell of it.

Comme toutes les fournitures TAMIYA ce ruban de masquage associé à sont dévideur est de très bonne qualité. Il colle juste ce qu'il faut sans laisser de bavures de peinture au décollage et peut même resservir. Personnellement je récupère les bandes ayant servies que j'enroule sur un tube ou autre support similaire.
