Celestron 93573 Dielectric Star Diagonal 2" with Twist Lock

This is an investment for any serious optical observer. If you have a CCD camera and want to see photons real-time instead. You may wish to look through this. If you have a Newtonian Reflector, you probably would not have looked at this item. Is it expensive ?, well, not if you want that extra brightness and contrast. Any SCT/Catadioptric user shall spot the difference. Be it improving a town view or dark sky experience, I would recommend. I have a Celestron Nexstar 8SE, and can see the difference on comparable nights of visual "seeing". I saw, noted, in other reviews, that difficult to use with a focal reducer (f6.3) Not so for me. This may be the 2 inch version. No problem with the 1.25 inch. My experience... Very good Comets/nebulae... brightness enhanced. Not an essential item, but I noticed the differnce.

This diagonal is a hefty piece of kit that oozes quality. Everything about it feels well engineered. The Twist-Lock mechanism holds eyepieces firmly and is so easy to use in the dark. Although the diagonal can be screwed directly onto the back of my Celestron Evolution C9.25, I use it with the 2" nosepiece supplied so that I can also swap it onto my other scopes easily when required. In use, the views it provides are as good as, if not better, than any other 2" diagonal I've owned. The orange colour also matches the orange livery on the C9.25 scope and mount, so you know you look good in the dark ;-). Highly recommended.

Besides being built like a tank, excellent quality and clearly a difference in light transmission. A MUST have. Expensive, but raises the bar for visual astronomy.

I wanted this for my 8" Edge HD scope but all UK astro retailers had run out of stock, and wanted £280. On Amazon UK this showed as a US import but even with VAT, import duty, and 72 hour delivery it was still £30 cheaper than UK outlets. Fits the scope perfectly, and delivers stunning optics. Nice tight grip on eyepieces, even the 31mm Luminous which weighs over a 1KG!

Well made, I like the twist grip, I just need to be careful when tightening the twist grip I don't move the scope off target as easy to do with a Celestron 127 SLT mount. Early days yet. Very pleased with brighter view. No more thumb screws stripping threads!!

Looks and performs great. Solid construction gives great confidence. Easy to attach and use. Definitely worth the upgrade expense over the standard “kit” item sent with the telescope.

It is a useful diagonal but you can get a Williams for half the price from the shops.

Great quality and a nice improvement over the stock one that came with my telescope. Fit perfectly into a celestron 6se.
