Would this be suitable as E1st?

You _could_ use it as your first E string, (Stevie Ray Vaughan was renowned to use a ‘set of 13 strings) but a ‘typical thickness’ for electric guitars start at ‘9s’ to ‘11s’... it also depends on the thickness of your other strings. If your 2nd string is an 11, you don’t want a 13 as your first string! If the above sounds like gobbledegook, just know that a “set of 9s” is a set of six strings with the thinnest being 0.009 of an inch. A typical set of 9s will run from a 0.009 string, to a 0.042 string (9, 11, 16, 24, 32, 42). Your guitar is likely setup (its intonation, nut groove widths, string action height, string spacing, etc) for a given typical set of strings. It’s a good idea not to deviate too far away (max one size) from what it’s setup for. Hope that helps.

Hi, The gauge of the high 'E' string you should choose will depend on the gauges of the other strings you already have fitted. Usually, but not always, string sets are described as something like ultra light, light, medium, heavy and each set has a matched group. The choice of a string set is largely down to personal preference but naturally the performance of the strings will vary depending on gauge and also the scale length of the instrument one is fitting them to. A typical high 'E' string gauge would be 0.008" - 0.010" but other gauges could be chosen. Have a look at the sets of strings that are on sale to get more of an idea.

Can pl013 be used as high e replacement for medium set for acoustic where i snapped the high e?

You could use it for a top e string. It will be very tight (not an issue for acoustics, unless you're bending). Could be a problem if your other strings are looser as intonation and feel maybe off. Best thing is to look at a set of acoustic strings you like and choose the corresponding gauge or buy a whole new set... For electrics a 0.013 is often used for a B or even a G string...

25 STRINGS AT A VERY CHEAP PRICE!!

I thought I would only get 5 strings for this cheap price- which is still amazing- but instead I was given 5 packets, each containing 5 strings. THATS 25 E STRINGS! The amount of times my high e string snaps is no longer a problem! I usually prefer the Elixir strings, however, if you need just a single string that keeps on snapping these D'Addario are brilliant- the sound may not be as good as the Elixir, but they price is so low that you couldn't ask for anything better :)

Done the job

I’ve no idea about and the guitar but knew I needed to replace a string. Cheap as chips but whether it’s any good, or in tune remains unknown.

How many of us have opened packets of D'Addario XLs just to use the top E?! In my ignorance I didn't realise I could buy single strings on here :D Each string is sealed in a little bag to keep it fresh, just like the full sets of XLs I normally use, so there's no chance of any corrosion - unlike with some other brands...

Well worth ordering a pack just in case

Set up an Epi ES-339, new set of strings, had to remove the 1st (for some reason, can't remember now), managed to kink it above the nut so when I tuned up it snapped! Having these to replace the 1st instead of changing the whole set was well worth it. Also made a double ball end for my Steinberger because I was desperate!

Las uso normalmente para el instituto. Pido estos packs porque van genial para mis alumnos. Tiene buena calidad de sonido. No son muy gruesas y no molestan a los dedos. Esta marca también la uso en cuerdas para instrumentos de cuerda frotada. Seguiré pidiendo más de estas cuando se rompan.
