MindWare KEVA 400 Maple Wood Building Planks Set - Building Toy Includes 400 Wooden Blocks, 2 KEVA Balls, and Idea Book - Ages 5+

These KEVA planks are museum quality and come with a wonderful instruction booklet and 2 balls. We had seen these in two museums during August along with sample structures. What fun for our 10 grandchildren (ages 4 to 11) during their 3-day Thanksgiving visit to our small cottage. From the time they spotted this set, their structures began to appear. Photos were taken over the 3 days showing the diversity in the creations of different age kids. They soon acquired skills to make their structures more durable AND creative. What a treat to have unique photos for our annual family album. The individual AND cooperative building was quite steady for the three days of their visit.

No name brand less money, same quality, just packaged more simply. These name brand ones are packaged nicely but more expensive. Great building toy planks. Hard maple and sturdy. Great for imaginative kids (and adults). Nice toy.

I'm not going to lie, I was a little skeptical about these blocks... What could be so special? But after receiving and playing with them, they are an awesome open-ended toy that will last for years to come. They are precisely engineered so that you can layer them in a multitude of ways that build engineering skills, teaches physics, and fine motor skills. We got this for our 5-year-old but right now, the 41-year-old is the one who continues to play with it! 😂

Absolutely, without a doubt, the best gift! They are made of smooth, hard maple and safe even for babies. We have five grandchildren, ages 1-12, who have them out all the time. There are instructions available for Rube-Goldberg-like structures that, with the Keva balls, let them build complicated routes for a ball to follow and end up knocking down planks stood on their ends, like dominoes. Yet, our younger grandchildren can build simpler structures and, with the colored version, be creative and have fun, like adding lawns and pools to a small building. These planks help build creativity & small motor skills, while helping the architect deal with the challenges of balance and design. And they are fun. The kids are eager to show us what they've built, so Keva is a go-to item for family and friends. One tall structure was built that included pathways for a ball to drop into different levels, finally hitting a row of dominoes (planks stood on their small end) that flipped the last plank, which dropped a small cup of baking soda into a bowl of vinegar on the floor below. THAT was fun to build and to show off to the family!

The students love these and they are high quality materials. They built much more complicated structures than I expected. There are plenty in the kit. No arguing over having enough to build with.

NOT made in USA as the box in the photo says. Product that arrived was made in China so I sent it back.

Bought this as an alternative to Legos and it is a great toy for kids age 6-adult! It comes with some intricate building ideas which was great for older kids but also allows for creative play too. It has been used to build structures for little army men, ramps for toy cars, and marble mazes among other things. It's the kind of toy that continuously gets dragged out and used for different kinds of playing which is nice. It is rather simple-just being little planks of wood (it would be fun to have other sized pieces) and I think the price is rather steep for what it is.

Grandchildren love to to build and play with these. They make really tall towers and slo-mo record them coming down. These planks are super sturdy and there are plenty of planks that 3 of them can play with at once.

Love these blocks! Great price for quality. We had a small set previously that wasn’t enough to make big towers or buildings. Have been played with numerous times in our dayhome and still hold up very well. 2/400 were chipped or splintered upon arrival. Extremely satisfied. Balls added a new dimension but could easily be replaced with ping-pong balls

This toy is very fun. It is simple, versatile, easy to use, and stimulates creativity. The kids love it, and so do the parents.

It is great for creating activities, especially for boys who are interested in building with creative minds.
