In her vocal studies at the renowned Schola Cantorum Basilienis Elizabeth Pawelek dealt intensively with medieval music and also sang with various ensembles such as Estampie, RicciCapricci, VocaMe Faun and the group, so now some of these influences and experiences on the CD merge into a unique and multifaceted whole. It combines the medieval chansons of the French poet-composer Guillaume de Machaut, galizischportugiesische Cantigas and traditional Sephardic Romances with Spanish music and poetry of the Renaissance, such as a Villancico of Luis de Narváez. Over all these pieces, however, hovers the theme of love and devotion in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, which in its various aspects, as disclosed hope, religious devotion, fulfillment or disappointment and also in the title "outros amores" reflects. Great album!!
Great album for all those who love Faun and bands like it (medieval folk music). Her voice is very beautiful!!!

At last, I have discovered the sublime!
The first time I heard this album my heart literally sank to the floor! I am probably the biggest fan of Faun in the world, and I had already listened to every song Lisa had been in for all those years, since she was a wee lass until she left the band. I ordered her album from Germany, and when it finally arrived and I started to play it, I have to admit that it not only exponentially exceeded my expectations, but it was nothing like I expected. It was as if Lisa reached a whole new level. I already knew that she had a beautiful voice, and was already convinced that it was the most beautiful voice I've ever heard (I think that Tinta is the best example from her Faun years of what she was capable of). But once I opened the 'Outros Amores' album and started playing it my jaw dropped. As I said, I consider myself the biggest fan of Faun ever, but I can now see why she left (and the band hasn't been and never will be the same without her). Now that Lisa is free to do what she wants, she has delivered with an album that surpassed all of my expectations. I thought that her first album after leaving Faun and doing her own thing would be good, but this is just exceptional, fantastic, and (simply) subliminal. I can listen to it hundreds of times and still not lose this intense feeling of connection to the music that Lisa brings.I just absolutely love the songs: Rosa Das Rosas, Je Vivroie Liement, Qué Puede Ser, and El Rey De Francia. I find it very impressive that this dazzling and marvelous German girl can deliver such wonderful medieval music in FRENCH and SPANISH! I'm from America, and I know a decent amount of Latin and German, but she has already outdone me in language skills. My final advice to anyone who reads this review is to buy this album immediately. If I were banished to the desert for the rest of my life, but could choose only one album to bring with me, this would be my choice. I can't wait to hear what the wonderful Elisabeth Pawelke comes up with next, for I know that it is bound to be FANTASTIC!

Outros Amores by Almara (Elisabeth Pawelke)
Almara is an ensemble lead by Elisabeth Pawelke, formerly of Faun (not familar with Faun's music), and I was attracted to the album by her rendition of 'El Rey De Francia' which I came across on YouTube. The rest of this album of mediaeval music is equally excellent - no weak tracks. Listening to 'Outros Amores' is something like time travel and we are so privileged today that performances like this can be preserved! Looking forward to Almara's next album.

Vorab sei zu erwähnen, dass es sich hierbei um keinerley Mittelaltermarktmusik handelt!!!Outros Amores ist ein gelungenes Kunstwerk der Künstlerin Elisabeth Pawelke, die durch ihre Zeit bei der Mittelalter- / Mittelalteralternativ Band Faun eine gewisse Bekanntheit innerhalb der Medievel-Szene erlangt hat und diese auch zurecht hat!Das Album ist wunderschön anzuhören und versetzt einen durch die bezaubernde Stimme von Elisabeth Pawelke geradezu in die Zeit der Renaissance zurück und man geht voll in der Atmosphäre der Musik auf.Die Tonqualität ist gut man hört kein Rauschen, die einzelnen Instrumente sind klar und deutlich von einander zu unterscheiden und der Gesang kommt klar und deutlich rüber.Die Musik ist sehr entspannend und man kann sie gut nach einem anstrengenden Arbeitstag bei einem guten Buch hören um die Gedanken zu ordnen oder einfach nur Abzuschalten. Das Abschlaten hat sich auch schon unter Beweis gestellt, denn als ich bei meiner momentanen Arbeit mit meinen Kiddies snoezelen war, habe ich den Silberling aufgelegt und sie waren nach ein paar Minuten absolut ruhig.Mein absolutes Lieblingsstück auf diesem Silberling ist "El rey de francia", da dort Elisabeth Pawelke auch mit ihrer Drehleier zu verzaubern weiß. Ich könnte es immer wieder und wieder hören.Klare Kaufempfehlung! 5/5 Sternen.

Eine wirklich sehr schöne CD. Eine wunderschöne gefühlvolle Stimme für mittelalterliche Lieder. Wir hören sie seit Jahren. Sehr empfehlenswert! Für jeden Mittelalterfan ein Musthave.

Schöne, spannende und einzigartig!
Dies ist das schönste Album, das ich je in meinem Leben gehört habe. Lisa hat eine unglaubliche Stimme. Ich werde nie langweilig geworden zu hören, um diese wunderbare Sammlung von Songs. Lisa bringt einen neuen Charme der mittelalterlichen Musik, die ich nicht finden anderswo. Danke Lisa!
