Durable but Not Without Flaws I’ve been using the A-Zoom 9mm Snap Caps for a while now, and they definitely serve their purpose for dry-fire practice and cycling drills. They feel close to real rounds in terms of weight, which helps with realistic chambering and ejection. The anodized aluminum construction seems tough at first glance, and I like that they’re reusable compared to cheaper plastic versions. That said, I’ve noticed some wear sooner than expected. After repeated use, the “primer” area started to show dents and a bit of breakdown, and occasionally one of the caps wouldn’t feed smoothly. They’re still usable, but the durability isn’t quite as long-lasting as I’d hoped. Overall, they’re much better than budget snap caps and useful for training, malfunction drills, and protecting the firing pin during dry fire. While reading up about how to train to defend your home, there were several suggestions to use snap cap "bullets" as you practice firing your firearm. These suggestions said that snap caps protect your gun's firing pin from damage, especially rim-fire firearms. So I bought this product that had pretty good ratings and I am not disappointed with their performance. They resemble the actual bullet in size, making them easy to load in a magazine. The only disadvantage is that it isn't a real bullet so you have to manually eject the "spent" bullet from your semi-auto pistol in order to load the next round. Perhaps one day they will develop a air-charged (rechargeable) snap cap that causes the pistol to eject the spent round and load the next one. But for now, these rounds will have to do. I recommend these snap cap rounds highly to both protect your firearm and support your home defense training scenarios .

These snap caps have been a game changer in learning how to use my 9mm. As a relatively new gun owner, I was very timid in handling live ammo but I felt the need to practice with loading magazines, racking, and clearing the firearm. With these snap caps, I can go through the motions without the fear of an accidental discharge in my home. They are the right size and cycle though my firearm fine. I have experienced a few jams, but I’m pretty sure I didn’t pull the slide back forcefully enough. Either way it was good practice in clearing after a malfunction. 5 out of 5.
