Q: This looks like a re-branded Chicago Electric (Harbor Freight) biscuit joiner. Does this have the same accuracy issues as the Harbor Freight?

I have owned this joiner for about 2 months and have used it for 2 larger projects. I've made about 80 cuts with it, so far I haven't had accuracy problems. One cut was slightly off because I plunged in the joiner at an angle but it was my fault and not related to the accuracy of the joiner. It was fixed by recutting the joint before assembly. Seems to be a robust unit.

The TruePower biscuit joiner Is 1010 watts. To find the amps, diviid the watts by the voltage. This one has about 8.4 amps.

Q: where can i get more carbon brushes

Just google "carbon brushes" and you will find a great many suppliers.

Q: How thick a cut do these blades make?

Pretty thick. With only the biscuit there is extra room within the cut.. Once you add glue with the biscuit, things become much more snug. After clamping, the joint is rather strong. I had read the biscuits are made thinner for this reason. Allowing them to expand When glue was added.
