Don’t purchase...cost way more then the $10 they change!
Purchased this item and it arrived Sunday. On Wednesday night the intake line exploded, which the pool company feels that the pressure built up and caused the line to break. We lost over a foot of water which would take us weeks to replace without calling a truck to do it since we have a well. Then we won’t know until water is back above the slimmer and we can turn on the pump, if we lost it too since it happened in the middle of the night we have no idea how long it ran with no water. $10 gadget wound up costing a few hundred dollars. Oh and BTW, it doesn’t even work, we could see the light on the pool wall, but it provided pretty much 0 light in the actual pool...maybe 1 inch from the light itself. If you need help identifying where your pool water return is....this will work. If you need a little light in your pool, this will not work.

Outstanding!!!
This light gets a bad wrap base don the reviews I've read. I bought one to try it out and liked it so much I bought a second for our other return. I use these in my 30K gallon in ground pool and they are amazing. Although the light is not blinding bright it gives of a really nice soft light that makes the pool very inviting after dark. I have had mine installed and running for 4 months and have had zero issues. If you are looking for a nice soft light source for your pool and don't want to mess with wiring I highly recommend you give these a shot.

If they last they will be great
The seller is top rated. They quickly responded and sent me a replacement quickly. I highly recommend purchasing from edgewood. Its sellers like them that are a tremendous asset to the amazon marketplace community. The FloLight is a nice accent light. For the price you cannot go wrong. They install easily and add a nice ambiance to your pool. DO NOT expect these lights to provide the amount of light you would see from even the lowest wattage powered light. At first, one of the 2 lights I purchased had a bit of a grinding noise. I adjusted the return direction and that seemed to lessen the noise. Eventually it went away. Shortly after that the same light stopped working. Edgewood quickly replaced it no questions asked. For the price and the level of service from edgewood why not use one or 2 in your returns. I have not noticed any reduction in flow and again it gives the pool a nice ambient light at night. I rate the seller 6 stars and the product gets 3. I would have given 4 if one of the lights didnt fail in such short time (3 weeks I believe). I think if I need to buy 2 more next year I might but if they continue to fail they eventually become a waste of money. Overall satisfied and what I expected.

Gaudy and barely illuminates and now broke
The light it produces is nothing to run home about maybe like having your glove box open in your car. Also it protrudes out very far, the back does not sit flush agains the wall, and it is screwed in all the way. This was a deal breaker for me since my returns are on my steps. I expected it to round, my other returns did that but this like comes out then goes up and around there is no flush back to it. If I had it to do again I wouldn't purchase them they are pretty useless, also the fan hinders your return a little where it doesn't work as efficiently. Less than two months later and both of mine no longer work complete junk.

So far I am impressed and excited
Pretty awesome! So far I'm excited. I have an inground pool with a small Spa that overflows into the pool. Sadly the only Outlet is in the spa and the spa and pool lights have never worked at this rental property. I don't think this would have attached to the outlet but it did attach to the spa jet basically I replaced one of the spa jets/outlets. It just screws on which is nice and surprisingly you can twist the little fan and the back with your finger and the LEDs already start to light up which is impressive. The light is definitely on the cool side of white. Which makes sense for water. Since I hooked it up to a spa jet it only lights up when I have the bubble Jets on but I think that's kind of perfect. I wish I had an outlet in the pool to hook up one of these as well but I think honestly it would be nowhere near bright enough for the pool. I'm going to upload a photo

Great idea. Easy fix to keep it working.
Great idea! Fantastic light when it is working. The propeller mechanism tends to come off the shaft during operation and the light stops working. Easy fix - just apply Teflon tape to the shaft and replace propeller - better than new and works like a champ now.

Didn't last the season
Waste of $. None of the five I installed lasted the season. For the cost these should last longer. Bright enough to work and clever design overshadowed by poor China quality.

Great idea poorly implemented but still worth it for clean environments
This product could be great - but isn't for one simple reason - it is under-engineered to do what it must do in the environment in which it must do it. First, the internal ducts through which the return water to the pool must flow are too narrow leading to sand particles lodging there and impeding the impeller. Second, the impeller spins at very high speed and the plastic from which it is constructed cannot stand up to this for very long - the socket in the impeller which is force-fitted over the generator shaft enlarges, and the impeller becomes unstable and eventually loosens fully and fails to turn the generator. I made a decision not to equip my pool with a standard pool light during construction because I wanted dim, low-level lighting and FloLight seemed (and is) perfect for this - our pool guests want to watch the Caribbean sky at night. Well they can certainly do that after three weeks or so because the FloLight will have stopped working. Now let's be fair - if you are not in a sandy beach environment and if you are running your pool pump at a lower speed then it does what it should do - perfect for small pools where low light levels are wanted. But the designer/manufacturer really needs to update this product by enlarging the internal ducts and finding an alternate solution for the impeller. I continue to use it - I have to - but I do check it every few days for jammed particles in the ducts.
