Must I remove the stones from a piece of jewelry before plating?

I’m really not sure about removing a stone or not. Ask a jeweler, they show know about that. But as far as plating yourself, make sure you purchase a good plating system. This particular one is not good at all. It didn’t do anything.

Can I use it to plate a metal part in a plastic or hard rubber object? Like a ring or pocket pin of a pen?

If you can remove the metal for cleaning and plating, yes. If you can't attach the anode clamp to clean metal, no. If something is mounted in rubber and can't be removed, probably not. The plating is real gold and will only work well if the metal to be plated is clean.

Where can I buy additional gold plating solution? Apparently, very small amount comes with kit. Thank you!
