A useful tool for Manual photographers
I bought these cards some time ago and I am very happy with my cards. This is a repeat purchase for me (long story). They are a pretty good tool to have in your camera bag if you are happy enough to work with your camera in Manual mode. The only thing I will say, is that in the latest batch, the grey cards are about 1/3 stop too dark. I discovered this when I compared exposures with my Sekonic light meter. My previous lot were spot on. These are not. No problem of course, because it is consistently wrong. So when I take a meter reading off the grey card, using my camera's spot meter, I set the meter to a value of -1/3ev, which give me generally good exposure. If you want to check if your grey card is off, you can do so by doing the following. When the camera is set to the correct exposure, the white card will meter at +2ev. So if you want to check if your grey card is slightly off, meter off the white card, set it to +2ev in the camera's spot meter, then present your grey card to the spot meter. You can then tell if your grey card is accurate. Pure white is theoretically +2 1/2 ev above correct exposure, theoretically. But the white cards in not 100% white, it is 90% white. The maths says it should be about +2 1/3 ev, but my white card reads more like +2 ev, which is close enough. If you are comfortable reading a histogram, use that to fine tune just how much 'off' your cards are. It won't be much, if any. There is a skill to using these cards though, as I have been finding out. Generally if the light is subdued, just present them flat to the camera, meter with your spot meter, and you will get a generally a good exposure. If however, you are taking a portrait with strong side light (sun coming in from the side or other tricky lighting situation), your "correct exposure" will be off because there is just too much contrast between the bright side of the face and the dark side of the face. So it's best to angle the card a bit towards the light side of the face, to get the exposure for that side of the face correct, and then let the shadows fall where they fall. In post you can then correct the contrast by bringing up the shadows a bit so that it looks pleasing. Also, when you angle your card to the light, try to avoid the light actually just reflecting off the card as that will throw off your exposure. For White Balance in indoor lighting situations, I seem to get good results with the white card. But I need to set up the exposure correctly before doing the white balance so it works great. So use the grey card first to set the exposure correctly, and only then use the white card to set the White Balance. Anyway, this a good and inexpensive tool for the camera bag. I think it's fairly good tool to have if you shoot Manual. Probably less so if you shoot Aperture, Program or Auto. If you decide to buy them, I hope you enjoy your purchase. Happy shooting.

Accurate cards.
Tested on numerous jobs with my Canon C70 in mixed lighting scenarios. Always much happier with the footage compared to not using them and guessing the kelvin by eye. Solid cards at a nice price.

Not bad - would be better with a case
Received them today. I was hoping they'd come with some sort of case to protect them from stains and scratches, but at this price I guess I'd just replace them if damaged when transporting it. Colours appear accurate from my brief testing.
