Gripgo Car Phone Mount Boxed

I have no idea why there are so many negative comments on this product. This is the 4th or 5th one that I have bought either in retail stores or online. It is wonderful for me because I could just put my phone, either with or without a shell, on to the green sticky pad and it will hold the phone there while I am driving. Unlike some reviews mentioned below, it is pretty sticky and does not fall off easily, if at all. I have used this product for over 3 years and it never fell off once for me. The only downside is that after about a year, you will want to get a new one. Even though you could just wash it with water to extend its life but when you get close to the 12 months mark, the sticky pad becomes dirty and leaves sticky stuff on your phone if you are not careful. I would recommend changing it once every 10 months or so. I chose to use this product because I could fit ANY phone there. I have had other dashboard GPS holder before but they were very limiting in terms of what phone I could put there.

I purchased the GripGo after a friend had recommended it to me for my iPhone while in the car. While I don't need it for speakerphone capabilities, I do use the app Waze everyday that I drive. It was getting to be a hassle every time I wanted to report a road condition I would have to reach down, fiddle with the buttons and then put the phone down again. I was hoping the GripGo would fix this. I got the suction cup to stick to my window after about the 5th or 6th use when the weather was actually mild. I wouldn't recommend leaving it up overnight if it gets cold where you are because it will fall off. Also, if the suction cup gets really stuck to your window, be careful how you remove it. I accidentally managed to pull the whole suction cup off of the holder and had to spend a good 20 minutes fighting with the rubber/plastic to get it back on. The polymer would not work for my phone for the longest time. I washed it, rewashed, stuck it to other things; still no good on my iPhone with the case on. I would be driving down the interstate and my phone would fall off into the floorboard every time. It wasn't until I went to Best Buy and a different style case that it started to hold the phone better. Pros: Universal, easy assembly/instructions Works well with smooth backing phone cases Cons: Suction cup is hit or miss on if it wants to hold or not Polymer will not hold phones with textured cases or cases that add phone weight, i.e. Otterbox, Lifeproof etc Do not trust this thing without a case on your phone

Worked great when I first got it, the sticky part works great and holds the phone very well (iphone 5). My problem is with the suction mount for the car window. It never held too great, and was prone to falling off the window when trying to attach my phone. After 2 weeks I noticed it had a lot of movement from side to side while driving. Then around 3 weeks after buying it the arm snapped off where the suction cup was attached. It's obvious there was only a thin piece of plastic holding the two together. I still have the gripping part so hopefully they sell a replacement arm and suction cup.

3rd week update: Now I own the first unit 3 weeks. I purchased 2 extra in a very low price here after I wrote first review. The phone (HTC Sensation) started fall off after 14 days. As instructed I clean it with tap water, it restored its gripping power and works fine for another week now. However, you can only find it start falling only when you driving and it's the time you need it most. It's a bit annoying. I would say when it start falling, don't try to put your phone back. Clean the grip when you come home and it works next day. Because of this, I will adjust my rating to 4 stars instead 5 stars. Saw this product from a TV infomercial and been ripped-off once from the expensive S&H tricks from the infomercial merchant, I decided to search here and found the same product at Amazon. Read so many negative reviews and read some OK reviews from another product based on the same grip pad technology (Clingo Universal Podium), I decided to give it a try as it's much cheaper here at Amazon ($15 total including S&H). After 1 week of trial, I can say this product works as expected and it is a very good product. Here is my trial conditions: 1. 2 hours per day in a car in combination of local roads and freeway. 2. It hold up my HTC Sensation very well. So far it only drops once the first time as I put it on too lightly (similar to a gentle touch). It then never drop my phone as I put it on with a moderate pressure (more than a gentle touch). 3. It comes with a suction cup, which work very well with my windshield. 4. I try to stick my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 and it holds up very well too. However, it vibrates more due to the tab is much heavier. 5. It is very sticky. However, to remove your phone, you need to peer from the side as instructed. The smoother the surface, the stronger it holds. But not a problem to remove it. 6. It is so easy to rotate from vertical to horizontal than any other windshield phone holders. It makes my life much easy as I put it to horizontal for GPS and back to vertical for dialing like no effort. 7. It works well with my USB charging cable. That's my $0.02. I will buy another one for my other car.

El producto es correcto pero no era nuevo. Los tornillos de fijacion de la parte movil ya se habian roscado en el brazo y la rosca estaba pasada. Tuve que pegarlos con adhesivo y quedo como nuevo. La ventosa se cae a los 10 min pero la gelatina verde pega realmente bien.

Not a great product, quality wise, both the suction cap and the phone rest couldn't hold. Suction cap was struck to the car's front glass still it fell couple of times in the last 1 week of purchase. Phone rest cannot hold on to a phone (Lumia 925) and it dropped my phone atleast 5 times. I wouldn't recommend this product.

Produit correspondant mais caractéristiques pas du tous d'accords. Le téléphone tombe presque à chaque petite bosse sur la route mais quand il ne se décolle pas c'est la ventouse qui lâche. je déconseille fortement si comme moi vous tenez à votre smartphone.

Love this item so much i have bought 3 over the years now. They last and last and last. The only reason for changing them is when you have washed the surface so many times it is coming away from the unit. The arm length and manoverability mean that i can set my Phone up in any car no matter the angle of windscreen or design of the dash. Highly recommend this item.
