Woukd washer go on inside against tank or outside tightened by nut? Thank you

Typically you would put the rubber seal washer on the bulkhead and install the bulkhead from the inside pointing outward, then put the nut on the outside. Typically one would then hold the bulkhead from rotating with a wrench and rotate the nut to tighten the seal washer. In this way, the sealing washer would not allow liquid to get the opening in the tank wall. If the seal washer were on the outside, it would be exposed to the environment and would oxidize and decompose over time, causing failure. Again, hold the bulkhead with the seal washer from rotating while tightening the nut to reduce or eliminate the chance of tearing the seal washer.

would this work to install a water heater heating element into the side of a 6 gallon cooking pot

I used mine in a non-submersed application so I’m not sure how good the seal is or it’s temperature rating. It is well made. The threads on the nut are tight tolerance but remember they are left hand. I scribed that on the nut otherwise I’d be forever taking it off. One more thing, I used mine on a flat surface. I don’t know if the seal will work on the curved surface of the pot or if the metal is flexible enough to flatten when you tighten the nut LH. And you may want to support the heater inside the tank so it doesn’t flex the seal either. For the money, it’s worth a try.

Does the inside thread accept a standard 3/4" female garden hose connector?

Can someone explain how float valve would attach? I also have 3/4x1/2in hose adaptor? Thank you

The float valve attaches to the inside threads from one end and the hose adapter to those same threads from the other end.

Worked great for hog waterers

Screwed nicely into blue barrels and combined with hog waterers, they worked great. Used a good amount of tape and had no leaks after several months of outdoor use by pigs! Would recommend

Quality bulkhead

This is a good quality product. Threads are clean and smooth. Good rubber seal on it. Has held up with water use for a year and still looks brand new. I would not recommend for use with sodium hypochlorite, but GREAT with water.

These are NOT NPT threads

The internal threads aren't tapered. It states lower in the description that it's G threaded, which is British Standard Pipe Parallel. Four stars because I learned something. Minus one star because the description doesn't warn about these not being for US MNPT.
