Solid M.2, Good RMA service.
Due to what I believe was a heatsink related improper installation on my part(but could still have been a faulty drive, as some have reported), my hard drive failed on me after several months of sporadic issues and corrupted itself, but I believe I was still able to get data out of it. After wiping it, it was fine to use again for a few months before corrupting a second time. I went through the RMA process, and while I didn't know if they were shipping me back a new replacement or my old drive until it got to my house, it turns out I was needlessly pessimistic, as a shiny new drive was delivered. This time I was sure to install it properly and it has worked for just over a year now without any issues at all. I leave this review here now, years later(my order was place on Oct 15, 2021) because I saw a few negative reviews mentioning low RMA quality and faulty hardware. While I can't entirely blame the drive for its failures, poor quality may have had an effect, but I had absolutely no issue with the RMA and have been using my replacement for a year without a single problem. For transparency, my "incorrect installation" was putting on the included heatsink before making sure I had space for it in my machine, at the time it was a laptop with its own M.2 heatsink pad, so having both heatsinks on the same side(under) caused the drive to bend noticeably. This plus the higher temperatures that a laptop typically experiences is likely what caused it to fail, but again, I can not rule out that it may have had a fault to begin with except for mentioning that my new part doesn't have the same issues. I put the new drive in the same laptop for about four months, and have been using it in a desktop for the past eight months.

POS!
UPDATE: It has now deleted all the data for no reason again! Now I've lost my data twice! If you want to lose your data randomly, buy this drive. If not, use a better manufacturer. I'm going to get Samsung ones to replace this and my regular HD and maybe a larger normal SSD to replace the C drive. This is exactly why I usually buy the main brand of products. Like samsung for hard drives and sandisk for sd/micro sds. Don't try to save money. It will cost you more when you have to replace it! Original Review: I bought this drive for game storage and any other storage so that I have room on my smaller storage in my pc. Today, it decided to just delete ALL of the data on it and the windows error was about the files being corrupted or missing. In disk utility I saw that ALL data is gone and it couldn't be opened because it was corrupt. So, I had to format it again to use it again until it fails AGAIN! I wish I could get a refund but I'm 15 months in so I'm screwed. I WILL NEVER BY ANYTHING ADATA AGAIN IN MY LIFE AND I RECOMMEND YOU DON'T! I know ADATA but I always used other companies and I thought I'd give it a try and I never will again. Stick with better brands. They're better brands for a reason! No I get to download tons of stuff again and I get to lose whatever might be on there I forgot to check for so far. Thanks for NOTHING! NOTE: The site gives 404 error code so there IS NO SITE SUPPORT! I called the number and chose customer service. It lead to a voicemail eventually but I'm sure they're closed. Going to try to call them tomorrow but I'm certain they will be no help and I lose out on money and time.

Nice heatsinc, works fast, very durable no issues
This was extremely compatible and work right away. Fit perfectly and easy to install. It works very fast. Has a nice heatsinc cover to give it style and looks great. I have used this in two computers I have switched out 100 times and still works like new very durable.

An average nvme ssd and nothing more
If you are not expecting the best SSD performance out there, then this SSD works okay. I got ~3500MB/s read and ~1300MB/s write benchmark. The flash memory is average or below average and with the brand name UNIC2 from chinese vendor and not any ADATA chip that is pictured. But still it is pretty fast for my daily use. One note is that the controller chip and the buffer dram memory chip run pretty hot when in full use mode. Highly recommended to use adequate heatsink to remove the heat for peak performance and longevity of SSD.

Wonderfull!!
Very fast and meets the required expectations, loads WIN 10 Os in 3 seconds. Absolutely satisfied for performance and price!

Works as advertised.
Read/Write speeds are as advertised on an 8700K/Asus Z390 Maximus XI Board. The included heat sink is a joke. This drive will run hot after long sustained file transfers, such as moving a 2TB game library like I did. Would recommend placing in line with a case fan to nullify temperatures completely or attaching a decent heat sink to provide more potential heat soak and delay the thermal throttle. No M.2 standoffs/screws are included, because of course not. Those are always provided with the motherboard and if this is going in a laptop, buy them separately.

Completely unusable - Failed within the first day
I bought this drive after reading the reviews and figured the users may have gotten a bad unit and that I'd need to be careful to ensure it doesn't thermal throttle. I made sure to use the included heatsink on one side and the thermal pad my laptop comes with on the other. The temps never went above 44C. Any time a large copy is attempted, the drive basically shuts down and causes Windows to bluesceen after 1-5 minutes. I figured this was a cache issue and that the cache simply filled up, but I couldn't for the life of me understand why write speed hit 300Kb/s - 1Mb/s if the cache is full. In other drives, the speed drops to the speed at which the drive can write the DRAM cache to Flash memory. In this drive, it simply drops to speeds you'd be able to beat on an old IDE hard drive and then to nothing causing the system to crash. This is inexcusable. Let's say you decide to download a modern video game. Modern video games are often 30GB - 100GB+ because people don't know how to optimize at all. If you were to try that, your system would crash because you wrote too much at once. Worthless. Go with Team or Samsung instead.

Let's get straight to the point: although I could not hit the advertised numbers, I topped out at 3,356MB/s read and 2,864MB/s write using CrystalMark. However, I did notice a sharp drop in write speeds when I was migrating my games library - down as low as 480MB/s. Apparently this is due to the SLC cache - once it's full, it can handle only so much. But when it clears, it ramps back up until it's full again. And so the cycle continues. I bought this specifically for gaming. And games (except for the initial install and any updates/DLCs) are all about read speeds. Considering I'm coming from a 550/480 read/write SSD, this was a major improvement. And a cost-effective upgrade as well, as I got this on sale for CDN$250! Now I would not recommend this for content creators or any other professionals who need to continually manipulate and move large quantities of data (i.e. video editors, game developers, hi-fi music/sound effects producers, etc). Do a little more research (and spend a hell of a lot more money) for an NVMe SSD that's far more suitable for your workload. With existing games and new titles becoming increasingly data-heavy due to expansive and immersive content, I highly recommend getting at least a 1TB SSD. And if your hardware supports NVMe SSDs, then even better. The 2TB XPG SX8100, with solid read speeds and high capacity, is definitely a worthwhile purchase. It did come with it's own heatsink, but my motherboard has it own, but I still appreciate that they included one. It did not however include the tiny stand-off screw - I wasn't expecting one, but it seems to be asked a lot. These screws come with your motherboard, unless you bought a pre-built or retail computer. Happy shopping!

Amazon 10.
