Still the best mouse, still a good price. Still wishing they would bring back the series.

My old MX518 became victim of the infamous loose cable disease [which I'm trying to fix because it's one of best mouses (mices?) out there in the wild]. I decided to give this newer version a try but was skeptical of its quality due to the low low price point. I've been using it moderately for close to a year now. At first it felt pretty much like its predecessor but over time it's beginning to feel cheap, especially the scroll wheel. It's fine, though, for the price. I wish the original mice from that era that are out of print (MX518, G400, G9) weren't so darn expensive *sad face*

I first bought an MX518 when they first came out 15(?) or so years ago. I have owned 2 or 3 over the years. It is simply the best mouse ever made. They even discontinued it at one point and people were selling used ones on ebay for $200. It's the IBM Model M (keyboard) of mice. Absolute classic. Recommended to many people and all loved it.

Logitech G MX518 >>> pro: fits hand comfortably - (right hand only); buttons easy to reach, dpi increase/decrease easy to use and reach; glides well. cons: the center roller is terrible! feels very cheap and clunky. if rotating upwards or downwards in constant movement, it's usable. stop for a few seconds and the moment you start to rotate again it feels "stuck" then jumps forward. becomes very annoying after only a few tries. I bought this mouse back in april 2022 and left it in box on a shelf for future use. today was future use after corsair katar pro began to show "left clicky issues" but in all honesty, i'd prefer to continue to use the corsair until new replacement arrives instead of new Logitech G MX518.

I go through so many mouses.. I have so many and higher end one including Logitech Hero.. By far this is the best fit for my hand and gaming..

Ich bin seit jeher ein großer Fan der MX 5xx Serie von Logitech. Gestartet bin ich damals mit einer MX510, die lief solange gut, bis die G5 Refresh rauskam, die dann irgendwann anfing mehrfach bei einem Klick zu klicken, sodass ich wieder wechseln musste. So kam ich jetzt zur MX 518. Glücklicherweise habe ich noch einen Rückläufer für nur 35€ erwischt! Ergenomie: Wer sich einmal an diese ikonische Form gewöhnt hat, findet alle andere Formen schlecht. Selbst mit großen Händen (ich bin über 1,90m) ist diese Maus nicht zu klein. Der Daumen liegt bequem in der Mulde und der kleine Finger und Ringfinger kommen gerade so auf die Tischplatte. Die Schultertasten und Mausbuttons haben alle den gleichen angenehmen "Klicky" Druckpunkt. Sensor: Hier hat Logitech nicht gespart, denn der neue Hero Sensor wurde hier verbaut. Er bietet alles was man von einem aktuellen Sensor erwartet. Die Auflösung kann völlig frei eingestellt werden und in bis zu 5 Profilen direkt auf der Maus gespeichert werden. Dadurch muss man nur einmal Logitechs Software für die Konfiguration installieren und hat danach an allen anderen Computern die gleichen Profile. Die Pollingrate von 1000 Hz rundet das ganze ab. Mit meinem Schreibtisch bei der Arbeit (Steelcase) und meinem Deskpad zu Hause (LTT-Store Northern lights) kommt die Maus ohne Probleme klar. Verarbeitung: Wie immer ist die Verarbeitung sehr wertig. Die Maus ist nicht die leichteste, aber auf jeden Fall leicht genug. Leider kann man das Gewicht nicht mehr tunen, so wie es damals bei der G5 der Fall war. Das würde ich mir manchmal doch noch wünschen. Das Kabel ist leicht und dünn, aber leider nicht mit Stoff ummantelt, sodass es auf glatten Oberflächen etwas "sticky" ist. Aber normalerweise ist das nicht störend. Fazit: Wie immer eine hervorragende Maus, die ich immer wieder kaufen würde. Hoffentlich hält sie wieder 7-8 Jahre durch und hoffentlich bringt Logitech dann wieder einen Refresh auf den Markt. Ich würde mich wirklich sehr freuen.

There's no point in logitech's new garbage mice. This is the peak. It never got better, they should resell this forever and ever. But they wont because they are not smart like me. Byebye logibitch I'm getting a steelseries when my mx518 croaks

Para mi el original és el mejor ratón que he tenido nunca, y eso que he tenido Steelseries y demás pero como este ninguno. Cuando descubrí que lo habían hecho de nuevo no lo pensé. Sin embargo el primero salió defectuoso.

Perfetto, semplicemente perfetto. Gli amanti del vecchio MX518 (che sicuramente faticheranno a trovare le parti di ricambio senza spendere un rene) si troveranno a casa con questo G MX518: il design lucido è molto gradevole e la forma ergonomica mi permette di raggiungere ogni tasto (pur avendo una mano abbastanza piccola). La qualità dei materiali è ottima e si nota subito il feeling "non plasticoso" dei bottoni e dei due tasti laterali. Caldamente consigliato!
