Very sturdy. Being positioned above the sink (handles out) seems more sanitary. The flat bottom lets things drain easier and gives me extra surface to work on when washing and trimming veggies like broccoli or lettuce. Saves room when storing.

This item really fills the bill. It’s adjustable and can fit your sink. What I like best it’s collapsible and can easily be stored. Clean up Is quick and easy. Love it! Can be used for hot and cold items to be drained.

This is wonderful for rinsing fruits and vegetables in. Also for draining anything. Its sturdy, easy to clean and collapsible for storage! Fits my sink perfectly. I buy them for bridal shower gifts and the girls have said that they love them.

The concept is great but if making pasta it’s a pain to get it drained thoroughly and removed from the colander into a bowl, it just goes everywhere, sure you could stand there and scoop it with a spoon or fork but I like my food hot and if making spaghetti it’s a mess , it is durable, easy to clean , just I see it better for rinsing fruits and vegetables.

I really like that this collapses for easy storage, it is built well and seems like it will last a long time. I always hate sitting a colander bowl inside the sink because even when I clean it I just feel like its dirty, so the fact that this goes over the sink and isn't sitting inside it makes me feel better.

This collapsible colander initially presents as a promising kitchen tool, offering a space-saving design, ample size, and secure over-sink placement via expandable arms. The material quality appears robust, and the aesthetic appeal aligns with expectations. However, what seems to me as a significant design flaw compromises its utilization in our home, particularly concerning sanitation. The mechanism for the expandable arms consistently take on water during both dishwasher cycles and submersion in dishwater when hand washing. This water inside that area is exceptionally difficult to fully drain, raising concerns for me about potential unsanitary conditions during storage and subsequent use. Unfortunately, we did not find this out until after our return window closed.

This strainer is so great for so many things, but I especially love it for draining pasta. My husband would always put the old colander right in the sink to drain pasta and it would gross me out every time (and I'd usually try to sneak in and disinfect the sink before the pasta was done cooking, lol!) When you think about all the nasty stuff and germs that end up in your kitchen sink, the last thing you want to do is put something you're going to eat into it! It's great for washing produce, too. If the whole point of washing produce is to get dirt, wax and germs off of it, the last thing I want to do is splash bacteria and junk from the kitchen sink onto it. I like to use this when I'm making mashed potatoes, too. You can wash the potatoes in this before you peel them, set the peeled potatoes back into it for a quick rinse before they go into the pot and then drain the cooked potatoes back into it.....all up and out of the way of the sink drain. The strainer feels very sturdy positioned over the sink and I've never had an issue with it falling. I love that it's collapsible and doesn't take up much space in the cabinet, too. This is a must-have for any kitchen!
