Works on ARE Camper shell after flipping strut upside down.
I just got this today for my 2024 Ford F150 that has a new ARE MX Camper shell. As configured, the switch would not fit because the strut was mounted to come too close to the outer edge of the opening. SO.....I pulled the strut off and flipped it upside down where the geometry allowed the switch to move without hitting the window opening. Works great now....

Fit the gas struts on my ARE toppers perfectly.
Installed on ARE DCU topper so now when I open the topper, lights come on so I can see inside and on the ground around the pickup. Don't have to worry about making sure the switch gets shut off any more, just close the door and the lights are off.

Under bed storage light in Travel Trailer
Used the switch to turn under the bed lights on in my travel trailer. Works great, so far...

Does what it should
I used this to turn my dome light in the truck bed canopy on automatically. Seems to be working perfect, does what it should and was easy to install. I wired it so I can still use the switch if I'm in the bed without the door open.

Defective switch
The switch was defective. Had already disposed of the box so I couldn’t return the switch.

First one lasted 8 years, no problems ever.
As the title says. The first switch lasted 8 years without any problems, then I traded in that truck. I don't expect any out of this new one for my new topper

Mediocre. Could Use a More Solid Housing and Better Blades
Medium grade hardware. Kind flimsy housing, with mediocre splicing teeth for in-line splice work. You will likely have to pre-cut your sheath on the electrical line to get good contact on the blades they use inside this unit. I'm glad that I don't need instructions on how to set it up, because this didn't come with any. Will have to see if this holds up over time, but it'll be hard to get a good read on that, since after I was done installing them, I wrapped them in silicone tape to be sure. ...they should stay on, and work consistently, now.
