Drain flies. Who likes drain flies. I was having an issue with drains flies this summer. This drain fly killer was a game changer. I still have half a bottle left because yes it works. The smell isn't too bad but not great. I could tell a difference in the amount of flies after one use. So it works pretty quick. Next year if I have a problem this will be my go to.

I live in an apartment building and the building is infected with sewer flies. While management is working on the problem, I purchased this product and used it on my drains. It has been 2 days and I have not had any flies coming from my drains. I passed this on to maintenance and hopefully they will do the entire building, but this product worked in my apartment. I highly recommend this product. It was easy to use, had no odor and no side effects. I do wish it came in a smaller container also, as it is heavy for us older folks. I would purchase again if needed

I have a terrible sewer fly infestation which was difficult to pin down to just one toilet or sink. I have 4 bathrooms but live alone so they are not used frequently. So from what I could research its a process. You have to clean out the funk from the back of the toilet tank, ( used UTUBE video suggestng baking soda and peroxide solution and some scrubbing) It was yucky but neccessary because these flies feed on organic matter. This gel cleaner is awesome. It has a very strong but pleasant smell...maybe similar to essential oils like peppermint and other like citronella, but I was ok with it. So I cleaned my toilets and use this product in all drains and so far...3 days later...only a few gnats here and there...I had swarms before. I will use this gel product again may in a week because they do lay eggs to reproduce and I think It must be repeated several times in order to kill the all. I live in a condo complex which does not help. I will also have to maintain toilets and keep all drains flushed. I really like that there are no dangerour chemicals and that the smell, although strong, seems safe and pleasant.

I am so disappointed in the effectiveness of this product. I have this persistent and annoying problem of drain flies, you know those little turds that seem to be hanging around your kitchen sink, smoking and drinking whatever intoxicating drinks they find in your sink's drain, then annoyingly buzzing around you, your house, and wherever it is you're trying to eat. In my desperation to get rid of these annoying flies, I purchased the "Fruit Fly & Drain Fly Killer - Simple Commercial Drain Gel Treatment – Eliminates Gross Fruit/Sewer Flies & Gnat Infestations from Any Drain. Fast & Easy - 1 Gallon (128 Ounces)" for $33.09. Based on the product's details and potential effectiveness, I expected to use only eight ounces per drain and have plenty leftover for any future occurrences. WELL, in three days I've managed to use about half of the jug's content, applying the gel as directed, and these flushing flies still seem to be kickin' it around the drain. I wish Amazon would critique a more effective five-star product.

Easy to use, pleasant smell, helps to get rid of the bugs

If there’s a review to read, please read this one!! I moved into a newly constructed apartment complex and was the first to move in. The new construction was built over what was previously farm land and has caused many insect issues. One of my biggest concerns were the fruit flies that multiplied pretty quickly. I had so many sticky traps, fruit fly concoctions, and zappers every where in my small 700 sq fr apartment. None of that worked. Don’t get me wrong, it was killing them, but not getting rid of the problem. I looked around Amazon and found this product and thought why not give it a try. At this point I had already killed over 1000 fruit flies in a week. It was seriously horrible at this point. They were getting in my drinks, food, literally flying into my nose and eyes. Absolutely disgusting. So I purchased this as well as some drain covers and within 3 days they all died. The combination of this and keeping them trapped in with drain covers is all it needed to take them out. WORTH every penny! My apartment complex is now buying this product for every apartment to help rid of the fruit flys for other tenants.

I've tried other treatments, but this was the one that finally got rid of the fruit flies/gnats You may need to do two treatments. Read the instructions!! ...and do not cover your drains after applying treatment.

So, I have drain flies. No surprise, or I wouldn't be buying this product. For 3 days, I had done the usual, clean carefully, vinegar and baking soda, hot (just off boiling as to not kill pipes) water flushes of sink, cider vinegar traps. And I'd reduced the flies from a small cloud to a dozen or so a day. But they wouldn't go down past a dozen or so. I was ready to use Drano and other methods to deep clean the pipes, but the wife preferred (and I see the reasons) pouring less toxic crap into wastewater. So bought this product, followed instructions fully, and repeated for three days. Result? More flies than before, even while keeping up the hot water daily treatments! Looking carefully at the active ingredients, all this is some citronella oil, which most active studies show doesn't act as a repellant, and a surfactant. It's basically a mild soap plus citronella oil. Sure, it's natural, but it isn't effective. Note the product doesn't even say HOW it's supposed to prevent/reduce flies. Giving the manufacturer the benefit of the doubt, they probably believe that it prevents the flies from congregating and breeding due to the citronella and the mild soap helps clean gunk, but that leaves this product ineffective past the cleaning possibility. ETA - for the record, when I contacted Natural Armor via email they responded very politely within less than 24 hours, and stood by the 100% satisfaction pledge, so I'm in the process of returning the unused portion for a full refund. So while I won't rate the product as successful for me at least, they put their money where their mouth is.
