Good quality
I don't know how I got along without it. I certainly hope Leatherman never quits making this particular knife. Very good quality. It's everything I need.

Great build quality as usual
It’s a bit heavy and bulky but the blade is razor sharp and the rest of the tools are super high quality. Only complaint is the other tools (scissors, screwdriver, etc) are a little clunky to open.

It's a Leatherman.
There is no doubt Leatherman builds quality products. This K4 is no different. It is well made. I purchased it because I liked the idea of a separate tool for opening packages verses using the regular knife blade, which I prefer to keep sharp for other uses. I am happy with this as a pocket knife. I took one star off the "Easy to Use" rating because the one-hand deployment of the knife blade is a bit awkward. The K4 is wide at the end from which the secondary tools can be excessed. It then tapers down abruptly at the opposite end the knife blade opens to. This makes it difficult to deploy the knife blade one-handed. I can do it but so far not on the first try. Perhaps it would work better for someone with bigger hands. At any rate I like the knife and would recommend it.

Love everything about it. Scissors are great and the serrated blade is a beast

Great Design, Strong Execution, Little Glitches, and BIG Sized
First, let's get the elephant in the room out of the way. It's big. Not elephant big, but BIG. The length is about as long as you'd want or expect, but in the hand, this thing feels very wide, and a lot of that is the way Leatherman chose to make the pocket clip. It's nicely flared at the bottom and wide at the top to quickly attach to any normal thickness of material. With the width of the knife combined with the width of the clip, it's wider than my .40 pistol. However, once that's out of the way, this knife is fantastic. The blade is sturdy, sharp, and nicely contoured. The tools all feel strong and substantial. The only hitch I have about the tools is that they do indeed open one-handed, but they open one-handed with the points of all of the tools into the soft, fleshy part of your palm/thumb. It's an annoyance, but it's nothing to keep me from really enjoying this tool. The knife is capable as a tool or weapon, and the tools are largely the main ones I would use in a given day. Package opener, scissors, flat-head and Phillips-head screw drivers, and a bottle opener largely cover it. I'm normally a Benchmade guy, but this all-arounder is fantastic and has become a daily driver.

It's not too thick for me.
I read many reviews and watched many videos of the Free K4 EDC before purchasing. Most people bemoaned the thickfreakness of the K4 EDC. I am here to tell you it's not too thick. At least not for me. I have carried it almost every day since receiving it and have never really felt that it was too thick. I find all of the tools useful, specifically the included scissors. I also find the blade to be super-sharp. This is a great product and I would urge anyone interested in an EDC multi-tool to give the K4 a shot. FYI: I carry the K4 clipped inside my left pocket. The pocket clip is sturdy and easy to use.

The blade wiggles
I got one of these and right out the box the blade wiggles. I returned it and got another. That one's blade wiggles straight out the box too. It's not side to side wiggle either, it's a vertical wiggle (which indicates a weak or unsafe locking mechanism). I knew Leatherman's quality control has been slipping gradually for years but I didn't realize it was so bad that an entire product series (Free K) would have an integrated fatal flaw. I won't be buying another of these, two chances is more than enough considering Chinese knife brands can get a lock done better their first try. The Free series tools had known issues and I've heard even worse about the Arc. For a knife that doesn't lock up right, somehow it doesn't even open very well - it opens smooth but for this price it should be much easier to flick. God forbid gunk or lint gets into the fairly open magnetic locking mechanism, it won't be easy to clean out. It's designed broken with that much wiggle. Really I got this because I wanted a tool that's one hand open (and close) on a decent knife, scissors that will reliably cut cotton fabric almost daily, and a bottle opener. I wouldn't have guessed that a Gerber Armbar would have superior design and utility to this dud. Don't get one of these, there are other tools out there better than this and the armbar that meet the same criteria. It would be a shame that Leatherman is retiring this design if it wasn't built like crap consistently, but for once I actually understand the corporate decision to end this failure
