Proraso Protective Shaving Cream

This is such a great product, almost feels like it was made just for me. There is no skin irritation, the razor glides smoothly and the scent is very refreshing.After decades of trying various soaps, this is my forever shaving cream.

I went back to wet shaving (from a Braun electric razor) early this year. After 30 years of shaving almost every day with the electric, I retired and now only shave 2-3 times a week. Electric just didn't work for that. After a few months with seveal different multiblade razors, I wasn't satisfied. In July, a started using a DE razor. For reference I use a Viking with the slightly longer handle. After a few weeks of shaving, getting my technique down and testing several popular blades, I have settled on, and regularly use Feather blades. I have used the standard Proraso tube, as well as this one, Cremo, and Taylor of Old Bond Steet St. James collection in a tub. I have come to prefer the Taylor.I still give this 5 stars overall. If there were 1/2 stars, I might take 1/2 off, but only COMPARATIVELY to the Taylor (maybe fairer to say Taylor would get a 5+). This creme has a very nice fresh smell and is supposed to be easier on the skin. I am not sure I see any difference from the regular Proraso Cream. It lathers well with a brush and lubricates reasonbly well. But the lather doesn't last well. I find that by the time I finish one side of my face the remaining lather nas thinned out and dried some and I have to constantly re-lather. But that is not a huge deal. The TOB lather lasts much longer, and lubricates better in my opinion. For tube cream users I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this. I really like the Proraso products and use their aftershave and a couple of their colognes regularly now.

If you're looking for the top of the line shaving medium, look no further.Proraso has been around for quite a while and offers a much closer shave than your store bought cans of cream. If you're looking for a quality shave I recommend it over all other brands. Even if you don't own a brush or any fancy shaving equipment it's the first thing on the list.My Method: Rather than mixing in a cup, I often extrude about a nickel-sized amount in my palm and wet until it begins to lather before transferring it to my face. This may not be the best method but it's convenient for me. Have tried several shave creams over the past 20+ years Parasso creams several years ago. I didn’t like stayed with English and Portuguese creams. Tried Paraso again this last time. Tried black version, very impressed with a Lather and feel on face while shaving. Faced felt very soft after cleanup and not dry like other shave creams after. Wish this had a slightly stronger scent, but almost perfect as it is..

I had been using Van Der Hagen soap for the last few months, until our hard water made it too difficult to get a good lather. Of course, that's not really Van Der Hagen's fault. I decided to go for a cream because they stand-up better in hard water. I wasn't expecting much. I put a dab of cream on my brush and whipped it around for a bit. HOLY SANTA CLAUSE BEARD! This lather is awesome!The scent is a really different. I can't really explain it. It almost smells like an Almond Joy candy bar. It actually complements the Nivea after shave really well. It has a nice subtle menthol feel to it. It's nice and slick and I was able to get an awesome shave. My face felt smooth and it smelled really good. The wife loves it. Two thumbs-up for me.

I have been shaving for over 50 years using every blade, cream and electric razor imaginable trying to get a shave that does not butcher or irritate my face. Pretreatments, after save products even Neosporin did not satisfy. I decided to try Proraso after reading all the product reviews. Why did I not try this years ago! What a wonderful product. My shaving has turned into a pleasure instead of a fiasco. Just a little on my brush, and using a bowl, allows me to do the job. The tube will last for months and my face doesn't. look like I've beenin a dog fight. I will reorder when needed and will try the aftershave lotion. Your reviews are correct.

I’ve tried several shaving creams over the years. Like many other users, the advertisements and sales pitches, tempt me to try something out. The Proroso shaving cream is consistent. So I keep coming back to it. It lathers well, glides smooth, and smells clean and refreshing. The box is blue, the product is white. I recently purchased this again when I was getting low. I’ll continue to use this label and this particular blend for years to come. It’s a classic. A little goes a long way. I’m also one of those that shaves daily. The aloe mixture is healthy for my skin.

I tried several different shaving creams before ordering this one. I have coarse hair and sensitive skin so most creams I have tried have still led to plenty of tug even with a new blade. It also lathers up very well which is good as I shave my head as well as my face and some creams I have tried require a lot more to cover the same surface area. All it takes for both my face and my head is to wet the brush, ring out the excess water, then lather up a pea sized amount in either my hand or a bowl.
