seems to have female connections at both ends, one large and one small. Do I need something else to connect to a nozzle or wand?

The one I purchased a while ago has one male and one female connection as is normal on all hoses I have ever had. I liked so much that I purchased a second one to use on a semi-fixed garden watering system but have not opened it yet.

If this hose is rated for 160 degrees F why can't I run hot water through it that's 130 degrees max????

I ordered the red version, states for hot water usage up to 190 degrees. Hope that s the items sent, as of now when I check order status, click on my order, the black hose shows up..... even in the comparison links, click on the red hose, the black hose for cold use shows up. Ordered specifically for hot usage/cleaning purposes

is this hose made of synthetic rubber or real rubber?

Don’t know for sure. I watched you tube videos for garden hoses safe for organic gardening with no leaching chemicals, and seen videos on craftsmans rubber hoses saying they where safe for vegetable gardens. But I did some research and seen that a lot of there products are synthetic. So just look for safe drinking water hoses on Amazon and you’ll find a nice selection of hoses. Hope this helped.
