Could I use this to crochet if so what size hook?

These are very soft to touch and strong threads - I would imagine that you could - I do not personally crochet, so I can really only comment on the quality of this thread.

What ply is this, 2 or 3 ply

Does this cord become fuzzy with wear over time? Does the wax coating hold onto dirt?

It’s not the kind of waxed cord that is sticky or stiff.

If the cord is 8mm, would 8mm beads fit the cord or should I get bigger beads?

No, the cord is 1mm! My experience is that all beads have different sizes of holes!? So check it the disruption of the bead, 1mm or larger!
