Macramé: Techniques and Projects for the Compete Beginner

Loved the book. Started using it straight away . Good reading and clear directions. I was able to make friends hanging baskets before Xmas and I am still getting new ideas . Great buy.

I thought this book was great. I had never tried macramé before, but I managed to make two different plant hangers very easily using the techniques from this. The diagrams are clear and easy to follow and although it didn't have very many designs I wanted to copy like for like, I was easily able to see what effect each technique had so I could decide on my own design. I normally donate books when I am finished with them, but will be keeping this one for my collection.

This set is a good value starter set for people interested in doing a simple macrame project. Buying this and a good book, or YouTube video works out a lot better and more cost effective than the all in one kits and plans. The needle threaders are a bit weak and cheap but the rest of the kit is as you would hope.

Good quality but a little advanced for a beginner

Odd layout, the last thing you need as a beginner, is to have to keep stopping & flicking back and forth to the knots bit at the back, projects didn’t seem to start small & simple to get you used to a knot, then gradually build up to more complex peices, it was all just jumbled, and i had to keep stopping to go back the knot section to remind me. Gave up. Book gone back.

This is a very useful learners guide to Mecrame, with clear diagrams and pictures

An excellent book for beginners. Good clear instructions and diagrams of the basic knots. Some beautiful projects that look impressive but easy enough for a true beginner to master and feel really proud of themselves.

Has lots of different ideas .. .maybe would've been better if the method to do the knots were next to the project not at rear of book as kept flipping from back to front of book

A must for beginners like me

Wonderful book with basic macramé knot techniques shown in picture format as well as descriptively. Lots of lovely projects including hanging plant holders, market baskets, clutch purse and wall hangings. Also includes tips on dying cord/rope, as well as introducing you to some professional macramé artists.

Pra quem quer estudar Macramê , este livro vale a pena.

This is a really great book! My only concern is that they supply list doesn’t say exactly how much of each material you will need (for example, total length of cord needed). My main question right now is what size hoop to use for the Tree of Life pattern. I don’t want the leaves to overwhelm a smaller hoop or for me not to have enough twine for a hoop that is too big.
